Keep Your Own Teeth If You Can:  Dentures should be fitted only when your old teeth are causing you health problems which cannot be remedied by dental specialists or doctors. It is far better to keep your own teeth for as long as possible, and here are the reasons why:

COSMETIC: The roots of your natural teeth are embedded well down into the gums of the jaw. When your teeth are removed, the natural shape of the mouth is undermined, as this causes the  gum line to become eroded;  imagine it being more or less mined, by the digging out of the natural teeth. The denture gives you teeth replacements, but it cannot possibly repair or fill out the damage done to the natural shape of the mouth and jaw once your teeth have been removed. Your appearance is changed forever once you have your teeth out; that is, unless you can afford expensive dental implants and jaw reconstruction. Even keeping old roots in the gums helps prevent your face changing shape and it developing that sunken look which is characteristic of one who has dentures.. Unless the roots of broken teeth are causing you health problems, then it is really better to leave them there.

CHEWING with your own teeth is far more effective than chewing with dentures – assuming you have enough of your own teeth left to do the job. Dentures, if they are made by an artful dental technician, can work surprisingly well, but never as well as your own teeth, because the bottom plate is not fixed to your jaw and does not have anything to hold it there.  Consequently, it can move around, even as you are eating, or worse, while you are simply talking to people, which proves to be very embarrassing. It is possible to get  tooth implants on either side of the lower jaw, for the purpose of holding down the plate. But if you think about it, instead of dental implants, then it might be best to keep a few of the original back teeth in the first place, so that these could be used for anchoring the plate. No one advised me about these things when I got my teeth removed. These notes are all from personal experience !!!

ALLERGY to modern denture-making materials is the worst aspect of having dentures in my experience.

DENTURES WITHHOLDING TOXINS is another issue.

These two things are inter-related: I find that the very best materials have a life of only about three years. After about three years of wearing a new plate I begin to notice that my memory has become very bad. It continues to worsen over the next year or so, but by then I am beginning to feel quite ill for a lot of the time. My immune function becomes weaker, I suffer candida throughout the whole digestive system beginning with the mouth, my eyesight becomes poor, my nervous system is shot, and my skin begins to suffer from eczema. I feel very depressed. Then I usually cotton on to the fact that it is the plastic in the denture which is breaking down and making me feel so bad, as I can taste the plastic, like apoxy resin, or formaldehyde, in my mouth all the time. Then I remember that this is EXACTLY what happened three or four years ago before I got the new dentures – and, YES -the time has passed very quickly, as I have had these teeth for all of three or four years, the same life which the previous teeth had.Then I do an experiment whereby I leave the teeth out for a few days. Like magic, my memory begins to perform quite a lot better, and I stop feeling sick. Putting the teeth back in brings back all the old symptoms, and by now it is quite obvious that the teeth are the cause of all the problems, as I have begun to feel normal,  both mentally and physically,  without the teeth. After doing without the teeth, I cannot stand their effect any longer, and I have to simply go without the teeth until the new ones are made up for me.

My wonderful dental technician is fairly sure that if I had the old teeth relined after two years or so, then this problem would not occur. He is convinced that the reason my health declines so badly is because of bacteria which get into the plastic once it begins to pit after a few years. However, knowing about my sensitivity to formaldehyde and plastics, etc, I am not convinced, and so I have gotten brand new teeth made each time, just to make sure.

I have found a new dental technician who has made just the greatest teeth for me using porcelain teeth to minimize the effect of having too much plastic in my mouth. But years before meeting my new dental technician, I went to a man who made up new teeth very cheaply: the plastic in these dentures caused panic attacks and all kinds of ill health immediately from the moment I began wearing them. The actual teeth of these dentures was plastic as well as the plate. They tasted of plastic all the time.  Now, after having experienced ill-health with several different dentures over a period of about twenty years, I know that the plastic in those dentures was the cause  of a sudden decline in health, especially mentally, which occurred once I began wearing that set of new dentures.

I think that the old kind of plastic which was used in denture making in war time was harder and more durable than modern denture-making materials.  My father still has the same set he was issued with in 1942.  He has a fantastic memory. This type of plastic doesn’t break down as quickly as what the softer modern materials used by dental technicians today do: they use these softer materials because they are easier to work with, and they probably get a better fit with the newer materials; but I think the bad effect of these plastics and acrylics on people’s health has yet to be determined. A condition similar to alzheimer’s affects me after several years of wearing a product made with these new plastics/acrylics. One plastic, as already mentioned, caused memory loss and anxiety right from the moment I began wearing it. I wonder how many people suffering alzheimer’s might have dentures made with modern plastics/acrylics?-  Of course, it won’t be the sole contributing factor in the occurrence of this disease , but I think that research in this area definitely needs to be done.

VITAMIN C has a damaging effect on dentures. Megadoses of Vitamin C, whilst being good for the purpose of detoxifying the body, actually cause the plastic of your denture to erode and break down more quickly than otherwise, and this will mean that you are unknowingly ingesting particles of plastic along with the Vitamin C.  If you need to take Vitamin C, then it is best to take it with the dentures removed, or to swallow a tablet quickly with a glass of water rather than let it sit in the mouth where it will interact with the plastic of your teeth. Many other strong vitamins, minerals and herbal products cause this effect to denture plastic; or they are retained in the denture plastic for a period after dosage.

DENTURE CLEANER is another thing which can cause health problems. Even after having brand new dentures fitted this time I began to feel dizzy and unwell after a few days: I had been recommended a denture cleaner, and thought that regular use of this product might keep the bacteria at bay and therefore give more life to the teeth. But, again, these modern plastics/acrylics have the ability to attract and hold poisons, including the chemicals in denture cleaner. Once I realized where the source of the problem lay, more or less after I recognized the taste of the cleaner remaining on the teeth even after using copious amounts of water to flush the teeth, I stopped using the product: but it took about a month before the dentures were clear of these chemicals.

I found that ordinary baking soda toothpaste made for people with their own teeth worked well: there is nothing harmful in the baking soda toothpaste, which I used, for the denture plastic to absorb. I decided, against professional advice and marketing ploys on telly, which tell you that this type of toothpaste scratches your dentures, making pits where germs can breed, that I would just have to risk using normal baking soda toothpaste and “the pits” rather than use a specific denture-cleaning product whose chemicals were obviously poisoning me.

The effects of CHEMICAL POISONING FROM EXTERNAL SOURCES is made worse, again, because modern, soft denture plastic/acrylic materials draw chemicals into their fabric, which intensifies the effect of the poison. Using any strong cleaning chemicals, or even walking near areas where herbicides have been sprayed on grass verges affects the person who is wearing modern dentures more so than someone who has their own teeth, because the poisons are absorbed very quickly into the fabric of the acrylic/plastic fiber. My experiment with the denture cleaner on brand new teeth has proved the point, at least to myself. However, this experiment confirms what I sensed to be true on another, earlier, occasion:

MAF, in Auckland, New Zealand, carried out a huge aerial spraying programme over Auckland city several years ago. This was, ostensibly, to get rid of the ‘apple moth’ which we were told, via  ads in our letter boxes and newspapers, was a risk to the  pine trees which are  grown here en mass by multi-million dollar overseas  companies. (and therein lies another story – much of the profit goes overseas, for a start, but growing pine trees en mass is bad for our precious soil: the practice causes mass erosion, and it affects the rainfall in an area, since pine trees repel water; so planting them in other countries and locations where they do not belong, where there is a rainfall considerably higher than where they come from thus has an effect on climate, generally) Just how MAF and our government expected to rid the place of a moth by spraying a whole city is beyond me – many of us feel that there was some ulterior motive behind this weird spraying programme.

Back to the story: every time the aerial spraying was done, many people reported detrimental effects to their health. These reports were generally referred back to the special MAF doctors and advisers, which was useless, as they had every-which-way reason to tell you that the spray wasn’t making you sick at all. You were ‘screened’ – had you ever had a problem with alcohol? – any mental illness in the family? – do you suffer from depression? -do you have allergies? – the implication was that these factors were the reason you were ill again, nothing to do with the apple moth aerial spraying. And it was no use writing letters to our one and only newspaper in Auckland: they were running the huge, expensive, full page ads for MAF which portrayed the spraying programme as being  helpful to us and the community at large: they refused point blank to publish anything which argued that the spray was detrimental to our health. A few weeks, earlier in the programme, the newspaper published a few letters, then suddenly said that the matter was ended and no more letters would be published. So it was difficult to prove publicly that the apple moth spraying programme was affecting our health, because we had no voice. In the end, the Victoria University of Wellington’s medical school proved conclusively that the spray was damaging the health of  people in Auckland, and it was stopped immediately at this point: But this was years after much spraying abuse had been suffered by many, many people. Thank God for the Victoria University of Wellington.

I began to suspect during this time that dentures retain toxins:   I could taste the spray chemicals in the teeth, and no amount of cleaning or soaking in any product would remove these poisons. I was being poisoned continually by the MAF spraying programme to eradicate the apple moth: not only were MAF helicopters and aeroplanes spraying us about every three weeks during parts of the year, but the toxins were being retained in the plastic fabric of the teeth after each spraying. I became VERY ill during this time, both physically and mentally. I was not treated for a mental disturbance, but my memory packed up, my eyesight became blurred, my nerves were extremely fragile and I became very neurotic. In the end, I had to do away with the teeth. As soon as I had done this, and left the city to avoid the spray completely, my health radically improved: I could remember again. I had new teeth made up for me.  Gradually, my health was restored to normal.

Best to keep your own teeth if you possibly can.

Complete List of Gluten Free Foods for People with Wheat Sensitivity

If you have problems with your digestion, with  diarrhea or constipation or both these conditions,  then you could be sensitive to the gluten found in wheat, rye flour and barley.

Note: Do see a health practitioner if you have these problems, in case there is some other disease present.

You might have been diagnosed with coeliac disease:  Both the coeliac condition and allergy or sensitivity to gluten respond well to wheat products, barley and rye all being eliminated from the diet. If your problem is coeliac disease, then you will be best to avoid dairy products and sugar as well, at least until yur condition improves.   But if your problem is specifically gluten sensitivity, then you will find your condition improves radically and dramatically,  simply by leaving out wheat, rye, barley, and all products which may contain gluten.

You may suspect that the gluten in wheat and other food items might be the problem if you have diarrhea, or constipation, irritable bowel syndrome, colitis, a distended stomach, stomach cramps or discomfort after eating a meal,  sinus trouble, skin problems, depression, candida and symptoms of malnutrition due to your food not being processed properly, with accompanying listlessness and a lack of motivation to tackle important tasks.

Of course there are other conditions which can cause the above symptoms, so if you have any of these symptoms, then  it is best to see a health professional to get a proper medical diagnosis.  Meanwhile, you might try a gluten free diet using suggestions from our complete list of gluten free foods to see whether your condition improves.

Doing without gluten in your cooking and your daily diet is actually an easy thing. Take heart, because you can  survive very well without products like wheat flour,  rye and barley. You can also improve your nutrition enormously by using other foods instead of the daily bread and wheat-laden foods to which we are accustomed.

We find the ubiquitous wheat with its problematic gluten in many commercially produced foods such as  sausages, sausage meat, baked beans, textured vegetable protein, sauces, soups, cornflakes,  and a host of other items.  Make sure you avoid all such products and use only the foods from our complete list of gluten free foods, unless, of course, the product indicates specifically that it is gluten free.

It is far better to make all your meals from scratch, at home, with the raw ingredients you can be sure are gluten free, rather than buying any commercially made preparations or meals.  If you do have a sensitivity to gluten, as yet undiagnosed, then you will find your health improving dramatically in a matter of weeks by using the recommended substitutes for wheat which we have listed below.

Generally speaking, rice is the king of grains, best used to replace wheat and rye and barley. Rice  is totally gluten free which is surprising since it has what we call a “glutinous” make-up once it is cooked in plenty of water.  Use rice every day – at every meal if you wish.

Rice can replace those breakfast cereals which contain wheat. It can accompany a meal of protein such as fish, meat or chicken and leafy green vegetables, or it can accompany a vegetarian salad with nuts, seeds, almonds and avocado.

Made into flour, rice  can be used,  in combination with other gluten free grains,  in baking,  to make the most delicious, and nutritious, of cookies and deserts. These treats should be used only occasionally for most people.

For people with multiple sensitivities, candida or hyperglycaemia, sweet foods of any kind, and dairy foods,  are best left out until the condition improves. Butter is usually OK, though, as is ghee, a product made from butter. You can experiment with butter and ghee to see if they do suit you.

Brown rice, of course, is the most nutritious and the best type for the digestion, as the vitamins and fibre in the outer part of the rice are still intact. But white rice ground into flour is a good substitute for white wheat flour, to use in baking biscuits and cakes and bread.

BAKING GLUTEN FREE: Our complete list of gluten free foods for people with wheat sensitivity will begin with the flours and grains which can substitute wheat and rye in your cooking. A mixture of  chick pea four, soy, rice and corn flours is generally a good mix to use in baking cookies and cakes, or to use for thickening stews and gravies.

Tapioca and arrowroot flours are also great gluten free flours to help your baking rise. These flours do not contain any gluten and are therefore safe for people with gluten intolerance.  Use rice flour for about half the measure of flour needed, and make up the rest of the quantity stated in the recipe with some soy and corn flours with a bit of  tapioca or arrowroot flours added for lightness in baking.

Wheat-Free Baking Substitutes: Gluten Free Flours and Grains

Arrowroot Flour

Buckwheat – Groats and Flour Note:  Don’t use buckwheat for now. Will have to research buckwheat a bit more.  I have an idea they may contain a type of gluten similar to that found in oats. This could be OK for most people, but it is best avoided for now.

Chickpeas and Chickpea Flour

Cornmeal – Groats or finely milled yellow cornmeal.

Note about Cornflakes: be cautious when using cornflakes, as some brands have malt added to them. Malt contains gluten. You really can’t go wrong if you stick to  the real yellow groats, or fine yellow cornmeal.

Millet – Ground millet is an especially nourishing breakfast cereal. Made into a porridge, it is good for delicate people and the very young, as well as for those who have an intolerance to gluten.

Oatmeal: Oats are not totally gluten free. They contain a different type of gluten to wheat and rye, and this is a very small amount compared to that found in wheat or rye. Many people who are sensitive to gluten find that they can tolerate small amounts of oats daily: half a cup in a porridge, or in cookies, is generally an acceptable amount. However, in extreme cases of sensitivity to gluten, oats might best be left out, and millet porridge, or rice, used instead.

Gluten Free Fruits and Vegetables

All root vegetables, and all leafy green vegetables are gluten free with the exception of the Jerusalem Artichoke, which has a small amount of a gluten type substance in its tuber.

 Fruits are also gluten free. These foods are also better nutritionally for you than eating wheat flour bread, pastries and other wheat-based products, even if you are not gluten sensitive.  This is because they provide good quality roughage to the bowel.  Fiber is  just the thing to make you healthy.

Vegetables and fruits also contain large amounts of vitamins and minerals which are not so abundant in cooked wheat flour. Vitamin C is high in all fruit and vegetables, especially when eaten raw as in a salad, or as a desert or a snack. Of course, if you have hyperglycaemia as well as an intolerance to wheat and rye, then you will need to be careful with sweet fruits until your health has recovered somewhat.

FRUIT JUICES.  All fruit juices are gluten free. However, these should be taken in moderation, especially if your bowels are not yet operating normally. Sometimes citrus fruit juices are added to fruit-juice mixes- citrus fruits can be  problematic for some people.  In extreme cases, it might be best to avoid fruit juices until health is restored.  Some people find a grape juice fast, or an apple juice fast to be helpful in the beginning of a treatment: best to get some professional advice on this before you attempt a juice fast, though.

Gluten Free Protein Foods:

You can eat any of the following gluten-free foods:  Almonds,  Cashews, Walnuts,  Avocado, Fish, Meat, Tempeh, Tofu, Eggs,   Nuts, Pumpkin Seeds, Sunflower Seeds, Sesame Seeds.

All Dairy Products- butter, cream, cheese, milk, are gluten free. However, some people might be best to leave dairy foods alone until they have recovered. Butter is generally tolerated by most people, even if they have sensitivites to milk and cheese. Butter is an ideal cooking fat, as it does not make the toxins which most oils do when heated.

All natural protein foods are gluten free. This means you can eat any fish or shell fish, all meats, beef, chicken or mutton, and eggs. Of course, you will try to choose free range products. Tofu, a soy bean curd, is a very good protein-rich food, ideal for people on strict vegetarian diets.

Curing Candida – Chronic poisoning

This story is about my own experience of chemical poisoning which occurred some years after being poisoned with, and recovering from, 245T.

I was fortunate that I had Walter Last’s teachings to help me, but I had to work out much of my own treatment this time round, as sensitivites were so great that I could eat very few of the foods which had proved successful on Walter’s diet.

This chronic candida was brought on by my own folly in  the 1980’s . I was living on Waiheke Island, New Zealand. I had the opportunity to buy a house which would reduce my mortgage considerably. While the house was under contract, the house burnt down. As if that wasn’t warning enough from my invisible guides, I went ahead and purchased the house for the section value. I was tempted because the property was a large one – a third of an acre – which would give us plenty of room for a garden. I also had ideas for using the foundations of the burnt-out house to rebuild a house there. The building inspector refused to allow this, which was another warning I paid no heed to. I bought a small cottage from the mainland and had it moved over by ferry, and then by crane, to sit on top of the foundations and floor boards which was all that was left of the original house. This was permissible according to the rules at the time, as the building was on skids, which meant that it was regarded as a temporary dwelling, although my actions did not make the building inspector very happy at all. “It looks a blimmin mess, Merrilyn”, he said.

I began clearing the property of all the burnt debris. This mission proved to be the enormous undoing of my health and that of my youngest child who was not yet going to school. He was accompanying me daily to the site.

The house had had an asbestos roof, and this had literally exploded when the house went up in smoke. In the explosion, a great quantity of plastic material in the form of wrecked appliances had fused with other materials in the heat. These toxic materials lay about in the mountain of poisonous ash all  over the floor of the building. Pieces of asbestos, large and small, and ash, were scattered over the extent of the property.

I began clearing the property, with my son’s help. I ordered a huge waste bin, and began filling it with barrow loads of ash and asbestos.

It wasn’t long before we both were extremely sick. Our eyes were bloodshot, the pupils almost non-existent, we both had chronic diaorrhea, the tissues of my nose had broken down and were bleeding constantly, and I was beginning to have fainting spells. These were very alarming, as I was suddenly paralyzed, rendered incapable of moving at all, and would have to lie on the ground until the paralysis passed. The mental anguish was terrible. I was barely hanging on to sanity. During these attacks, which I noticed came on whenever I visited the property, my heart would race so hard I thought it would stop.

The other important factor was that I could not eat anything much at all without a thick coating of candida covering my tongue. This would happen as soon as the food touched my lips. I thought I would surely die, if not from poisoning, then from starvation.

Once we went across on the ferry to Auckland. The fumes of the main street were suddenly too much for me and I collapsed on the street. I had worked out, simply by experimenting, that two aspirin alleviated these dreadful symptoms almost immediately. Garlic, calcium ascorbate powder and kawakawa leaves also averted complete collapse. So my son ran into a shop to get some of the only thing readily available in High Street of an afternoon- two aspirin, which I took right away.

By the time I had taken the aspirin, an ambulance had arrived to take me to hospital. At the hospital, a heart specialist told me that I had a heart condition called tachycardia, which is more or less a racing heart. The heart rate he monitored was nothing like the speed at which it was going before I took the aspirin. I wasn’t tested for poisoning of the blood at this stage, but told to go and see my doctor for some heart medecine.

I did not visit a doctor. I knew there was nothing wrong with my heart: these weird symptoms had all come on when I had started work at the section where the house  with the asbestos roof had burnt down. And now, I was unable to step on the property at all because I would collapse if I did. I knew my recovery depended upon my own efforts entirely: no one else except myself knew what conditions had caused my physical demise, and so I was sure that the best person to evaluate my health, and rebuild it, was myself.

So I sold up.  Sold what gear my friends and children could retrieve for me, and sold the property.

We went to Queensland and lived in  caravan parks for six months until I recovered. This was extremely hard work, especially with other menacing hazards to consider in the Australian environment, like hidden cockroach and ant killers. Even the celery was different to New Zealand celery.  New Zealand grown celery had been the perfect food, even if it was not organically produced, but I began to get a toxic reaction to the poisons which I could taste on the Australian grown celery. (Note – this does not mean that NZ celery is always safe to use – farming chemicals change from year to year, and from farm to farm. I have since bought celery here in NZ which has been virtually inedible because of the insecticide on it)  So organic celery had to be sought, which I found at the Eumundi markets. It was not always possible to get to the markets to keep a constant supply, so  I alternated eating this with bunches of non-organic stuff and took castor oil and calcium ascorbate Vitamin C to counteract the poison. Each day I had to work hard at staying alive. It took months before I began to feel that I might live.

The diet was not really a ‘diet’ – I ate the only things I was able to eat without rampant candida infection taking over my mouth and affecting the whole of my being. These things were CELERY, celery and more celery,  TUNA FISH IN OIL and GARLIC.  At first, these foods were all I could eat. Nothing else. But I was grateful I had been guided to the things which at least kept me alive without suffering. After a few weeks, I found I could add almonds to the diet, but I had to be careful with these and not eat too many.

I took CASTOR OIL, two tablespoons, at least twice a week and used ENEMAS almost every day for the first couple of months or so. After a couple of months I was able to add fresh lettuce to the diet. I could not take any cooked food except for the tinned tuna. This was, in the main, a raw food diet which worked as a detoxification mainatenance diet.

After about six months of the celery, tuna, lettuce, and garlic diet, I knew I had improved dramatically. With this realization came the insight that cooked broccoli would be tolerable and healthful for me. Sure enough, cooked broccoli was ok now. I think I introduced two raw egg yolks into the diet at this stage. These foods were safe for me now: I got none of the reactions I had had even three months earlier on these foods. I still had to be careful though. Sprouted grains and beans were still problematic because of the yeasts which they grow on them: with the soaking of grains and beans, the fermentation process starts right away. This is why they are unsuitable for people who have chronic candida due to chemical poisoning.

No other foods were tolerable until after about a year of sticking to my own dietary regime.

Supplements I used to help in healing this condition were LYSINE and VITAMIN C CALCIUM ASCORBATE POWDER. The common Vitamin C tablets,which most people use, were no use at all, as they fed the candida in the mouth. I took doses of 1000mg of calcium ascorbate two or three times a day, generally at mealtimes. If I had a reaction to a food, then I would take the third dose of 1000mg.

HALIBUT LIVER OIL was also useful- after a month or so on my celery diet, I began taking these. I would occasionally take two aspirin if I the candida reappeared:  sometimes it did through eating lettuce which was not fresh enough.

After I recovered, I read somewhere that fish oil is great for removing toxins from the blood. I think this is why the tuna in oil was just the right food for me. No other tinned fish would do. Sardines, which I had used frequently when following Walter Last’s advice for the 245T poisoning, were not tolerable. Sardines and all other fish gave me a thick coating of candida in the mouth immediately it touched the mouth. I visited Walter Last in Australia while I was recovering. He thought that the reason the tuna fish in oil was so healing in this instance was that it was rich in iodine. Personally, I am sure it was the oil which made it tolerable,  as no other fish was tolerable until about a year of following my celery-tuna diet. Tuna is also a large deep water fish which possibly has less mercury and other contaminants in its flesh than  smaller fish which live closer to land. Whatever the reason, tuna in oil was the answer.

I practiced the exercise which I have recorded under  “Maximize your Prana Intake’, three times EVERY day, without fail. I also did a lot of singing of Praises from the wee hymn book I had with me, did a lot of Buddhist chanting, and  read numerous  beautiful  stories to my two young boys. A short run every evening, on the grass around the park, became part of my daily routine after about three months. All these things  helped greatly to aid my recovery and enhance  spiritual awareness and well-being.

At some stage in these six months I went for a medical check up in Nambour, more or less to document the effects of the sugar cane spraying which was going on near us at the time. (Soon after, we moved further north, away from this environmental hazard) The doctor examined my sinuses. She was horrified, because all the lining had been burnt out of my nostrils. She was quite angry and suggested that I might be a coccaine addict. Nothing I could do or say would alter her judgement, I felt: my story of just how my sinus membranes had become totally shot was just so unbelievable, I didn’t even try to convince her otherwise. I have NEVER touched coccaine in my life: breathing a mixture of asbestos  and plastic dust, mercury and lead-laden paint, and formaldehyde, from burnt particle board in one section of the house, gave me nostrils such as any cocaine addict might never experience.

I got a blood test done by a naturopath after some time of following my own detox regime. Mercury was still on the high side of ‘normal’. I believe I had eliminated most of the mercury and other poisons at this stage.

And this is how I suffered and conquered the third major health crisis in my life. It could easily have been avoided if I had paid heed initially to the idea that I shouldn’t have been worrying about material concerns. And to be opting for material gain at the expense of my own and my family’s health was sheer madness. What I had in the first place  was perfectly fine.

Maximize Your Prana Intake

THE FIVE MINUTE ‘KOW-TOW-TO-THE-SUN’ EXERCISE

This  exercise is one of the most effective, most simple, and most economical exercises which one can do in order to vitalize the body and mind. It is a combination of yoga breathing and simple postures which, when done simultaneously, allows maximum prana to be taken into the body.

The routine was formulated by a medical doctor who turned to acupuncture and spiritual healing in his last years of practice. With his knowledge of acupuncture points, he worked out this routine to help with his own spiritual healing methods, and to help others. Unfortunately, I have lost the brochure which he distributed which had this exercise on it, so I can’t give you his name.

Practice the exercise three times a day, morning, noon and night. It takes only five minutes of your time which will reap huge benefits for your health and your sense of well-being.

It is an excellent routine to do for self  healing, but also is beneficial to the recipient of a spiritual healing: Practice this routine prior to one giving spiritual healing to another person.

THE KOW TOW EXERCISE; Stand in a position which faces the sun. Standing bare-foot on damp grass in the early morning is the ideal way to practice this exercise, but if you cannot do this, standing on a verandah in the open air facing the sun, or looking at it through a window will do just as well.

So – you are facing the direction of the sun, even if the sun is not out today. Stand upright and tall, feet together. Place the fingertips of both hands into the centre of the stomach, the solar plexus chakra area. Press the fingers in gently and keep them there. Now count the breath as you breathe in slowly, deliberately and deeply. Say ‘ONE’ silently to yourself as you breathe in, and ‘OM’ as you breathe out. ‘OM’ can be said either silently, or aloud. Carry on breathing and counting in this fashion until you have reached’ TEN’ with an ‘OM’ sound to finish.

Visualize the sun’s energy and the life force entering your solar plexus area and infusing through the whole of the body as you do this. Imagine healing taking place in the area needed; imagine recovery from addiction or whatever ails you; or  simply imagine  your body and mind becoming more vitalized so that you are better equipped to help others.

Now, clasp the fingers together. Hold the clasped hands over the solar plexus area.

Breathe in, slowly and deeply, as you slowly bend forward in a Kow Tow towards the sun. The clasped hands are still cupped over the solar plexus. As you reach the full Kow Tow, when  your upper body will be  parallel with the floor, you should have full lungs. Hold for a second, then slowly come up to upright position, exhaling as you go. Repeat this three times.

Next, simply rub the stomach and solar plexus area in a circular movement, clockwise, if you were to  look down. Complete three large circles as you continue breathing deeply.

Now put the thumbs of both hands underneath the armpits and press the inner part where the arm joins the chest. Holding the thumbs underneath the armpits, breathe in slowly, coming up onto the toes as you go. Hold up on tip toes for a few seconds, then release the breathe slowly as you return the heels to the ground or floor where you are standing. Repeat three times.

Then put the right hand thumb onto the right side of the brow. Put the left thumb at the left side of the nape of the neck. Take a slow deep breathe in. Hold the breathe for the count of five, then breathe out.

This is the extent of the routine – very easy. You only need to do the sequence of exercises once. Then…….

If you wish, you can continue with healing on yourself or on another person. Simply place the hands over the area needing assistance. Continue to breathe evenly and deliberately as you were when you took the initial ten ‘OM’ counts.

Concentrating on the forehead to help anxiety is a treatment which is generally beneficial. Close the eyes as you mentally visualize prana from your hands healing and restoring either yourself or the person you are helping.

I did this exercise every day, three times a day, when I was recovering from toxic poisoning with resultant candida. I also did the tummy-to-brow breathing exercise daily.

These things helped my recovery, of that I am sure. The very least that these exercises do, which you can observe in your daily life, is that they teach you to breathe more deeply and more regularly. The practice of deeper, more regular breathing puts more oxygen into the blood which helps all the organs, including your brain. Then there is the relaxing effect which these exercises do for you, not to mention  the indefinable spiritual qualities which  they impart.

Candida Albicans

Yeast Infections from Candida overgrowth:  The candida albicans organism is one which occurs naturally in the digestive system. The balance of different bowel organisms sometimes gets out of hand, and this can cause a wide range of distressing conditions.

The condition of candida overgrowth can include some or all of the following symptoms: memory loss, dizziness, recurring ear infection, ringing in the ears, swollen glands, weakness of the lungs with recurring colds, blurred or cloudy vision, yeast infection, constipation or stools which are too loose, eczema, migraines, sleeplessness, restlessness, arthritic pain and depression.

The over-growth of candida albicans happens when one’s  immune system becomes weakened. This can sometimes happen if the person has been traumatized by some event, but very often the cause of candida albicans becoming a problem is because of auto-intoxication resulting from eating a bad diet which is deficient in green vegetables and  which contains too much processed and preserved food.
But it can also happen when one is suddenly exposed to environmental factors such as radiation, or chemicals which are hazardous to the health, like farm herbicides and  insecticides and domestic poisons like rat poison and cochroach killer.

Even using products like bleach too frequently, or bath and shower cleaners, can cause an immediate imbalance in the bowel flora. This is because the bleach is absorbed into the skin, fumes through the lungs, and from those organs goes straight into the blood.
Bleach fumes are also taken into the mouth which affects the quality of your saliva immediately, making it excessively alkaline. This affects digestion and encourages candida infection.
Heavy metal poisoning such as mercury or lead poisoning, and asbestos poisoning, can leave the immune system severely weakened so that candida albicans can take control.

Candida infection can occur if one is exposed over a period of time to radiation such as that from cell-phones, or electricity transformers and high tension electricity wires which are too close in proximity for the body to be able to function normally. Radiation, which will lower your immunity, also kills off the beneficial bacteria in the bowel just as quickly as farm and domestic poisons do.

A diet too high in sugar will cause candida: even if the diet favours sweet fruit over eating green vegetables, then candida can result because of excessive sugar intake. Wheat flour is problematic because it is absorbed as sugar too quickly into the blood stream. Eating too many yeast products can cause candida, especially if the diet is lacking green vegetables, oils, and protein. Yeast products, especially bread, should be avoided.

Generally, if the the body is cleared of toxins, then candida should not be a problem. But sometimes it can take a long time to rebuild the immune system after it has been shaken, especially if the body has been exposed to prolonged periods of damaging environmental conditions.
