Glyphosate Ban In Europe Still To Be Fought June 2016

Natural Health and Agriculture At Risk Because of Monsanto’s Glyphosate:

Avaaz need our help to continue the battle against Monsanto’s glyphosate, which is marketed as ‘RoundUp’ by Monsanto.

Glyphosate-containing ‘RoundUp’ is probably Monsanto’s main money earner.  It has for many years been falsely marketed as a ‘safe’ weedkiller, or herbicide.  Farmers and householders, and town and city councils all over the western world widely use glyphosate weedkillers, believing that it does no harm.

But WHO, World Health Organization, last year in May, 2015, declared that glyphosate ‘probably’ causes cancer.  After all these years of governments ignoring the issue, it is really something for WHO to hint at the danger to health.

In my experience, glyphosate poisons also disturb the natural intestinal flora of humans and animals alike, leading to conditions such as candida, or yeast infection, and excacerbating conditions such as arthritis  depression and obesity.

Glyphosate is destroying flora and fauna all over the world:  It helps to kill off bees and other insects and spiders which are important in the natural scheme of things for the pollination of plants. A ban on Monsanto’s glyphosate poison will help save our bees.

Glyphosate will eventually kill off everything except the Monsanto-made genetically engineered seeds, which means the planet will potentially be over-run with Monsanto’s genetically modified crops to the exclusion of everything else.

Monsanto’s glyphosate-containing RoundUp poison will eventuate in Monsanto, and other major agricultural companies, dominating the agriculture of the world.  Only their genetically modified seeds, known by Monsanto as ‘RoundUp Ready’ crops  will survive, and we will have to pay to grow any of these crops. We will not be allowed to use any old seeds we have around, but will have to pay for the seed giants’ patented seeds.

Wild herbs and flowers are already at risk because of glyphosate RoundUp weedkiller. Already, these plants which can cure disease, such as dandelions, plantains, self-heal and comfrey, are being destroyed on our waysides and even in our lawns and parks.

Healing through natural herbal medicine will be a thing of the past, and people will be even more reliant on pharmaceutical drugs than they are now.

People’s health will suffer if glyphosate is not banned for good:  Glyphosate gets into our organs and pollutes our bodies, making us less resistant to diseases.  It is also a likely cause of obesity.

No heritage plants or trees will be available – the chemical and seed giants will make us pay for their patented seeds and fruit trees too.  And the quality of these new hybrid plants and seeds will most likely be inferior to our older type, more disease-resistant plants and seeds.

Food sources should not be owned by anybody. – Food and water are basic human rights of all mankind, and it is deplorable that these chemical and seed companies are working towards controlling humankind and profiting by making them dependent upon their system of agriculture.

Donate if you can, to Avaaz, who are actively working towards a world ban on Monsanto’s glyphosate-containing herbicide.

Is Brodifacoum Poison Affecting Humans And Killing NZ Seagulls

Toxic Chemicals:

Thirty Tonnes of Brodifacoum Dropped on Whangaparaoa Shakespear Park, New Zealand.

This article was previously published by Merrilyn in 2012.

DSCO 1545Seagulls in Danger:  Photo by Merrilyn on Holly’s camera, 2012.

And since this drop, thousands of seagulls have been picked up dead off our shores up here.  2500 dead seagulls  within one week have been picked up off our local beaches, near where the Brodifacoum was dropped, and a total of 10,000 dead seagulls has been given for the general area, including Muriwai Beach, which is not very far away ‘as the seagull flies’.   This will be a very conservative figure.  How can they count all the seagulls who have died?.

DSCO 1552Photo by Merrilyn on Holly’s camera, 2012.

The authorities have reported through the local paper (NO big coverage about this big event, with its potentially disastrous consequences, on national television)  that the 10,000 dead seagulls picked up were a result of a storm.  But the Brodifacoum poisoning on such a huge scale must surely be the real reason.  Seagulls can detect when storms are on their way, and it is not usual that they get caught up in these storms.  Also – the storm that was predicted for our region north of Auckland in the Whangaparaoa did not arrive.  So these seagulls did not die because of a storm.

We were assured in a local newspaper article that ‘technology’ was so improved and sophisticated now, that NO Brodifacoum would be accidently dropped in the sea or on the beaches. A blatant misrepresentation of the facts.

The following week, after one of these poisonous drops, a picture appeared in the local paper of workers picking up Brodifacoum pellets from the local beaches. These workers were paid by MAF to pick up accidental drops of poisonous pellets off the beach.  Many of these escaped pellets would have been eaten by seagulls before the pellets could be retrieved.  Many pellets would also have landed in the water where they could never be retrieved.

Now with such a huge drop of Brodifacoum poison – 30 tonnes in the one area – you would expect that the health department would be interested in the effects on the people of the region, especially since so many people live close to the poisoned site.  But – in many countries overseas, this poison has already been banned, or restricted.  So its bad effects ARE  ALREADY DOCUMENTED.  This is why our health authorities are turning a blind eye to the after-effects of using this poison on such a large scale.  Nothing but silence now, and the pretence that all is well.  Meanwhile,  I bet the doctor’s are doing a roaring trade on the Whangaparaoa-Rodney Coast, as will the drug companies, from all the people who will be visiting the doctors for prescriptions to fix the many and various health problems people will be suffering as a direct result of Brodifacoum poisoning.

Someone, somewhere, will be profiting enormously, to the tune of MILLIONS of dollars, because of the sale and the use of this Brodifacoum poison in New Zealand.  Thirty tonnes on Whangaparaoa Shakespear Park, and goodness knows how much all over the rest of the country.  The thing is that it is not necessary to use poison.  There are plenty of less harmful ways of managing the pests of the forests without using chemicals such as Brodifacoum.  But big business interests push this poison forward as being the cheapest and quickest way to cure the problem, and so our gullible politicians say “YES’ to it.  Even the Green party has endorsed the use of this poison, so I read somewhere.  Astounding – other countries have experienced disastrous consequences from using Brodifacoum, but New Zealand has to learn for itself.

I wonder whether they might even have sneakily used it on the reserve only few hundred yards down the road from where I live, such are the reactions that I am experiencing to this poison.

I have been told that many seagulls died in Kapiti as well – also blamed on a storm.  But Brodifacoum poisoning, I remember reading somewhere,  has also been done in parks and on islands in that region, as well as in other parkland areas of New Zealand.  So these seagulls down at Kapiti, also,  have likely died from the result of eating Brodifacoum poison.  The local paper said a couple of weeks ago that 100,000 seagulls have died over the past month, because of storms, they say,  in various areas of New Zealand.  This will be just an estimate on the lower side, I should imagine.  But it is still a pretty horrific figure.

What a terrible thing.  As if we can’t see that ‘the Gods are angry’:  All the earthquakes, tsunamis, tornadoes and volcanic eruptions all over the world are surely a sign that we need to alter our ways.  Our earth is rebelling to show its anger about the way we are poisoning our planet.  And, unbelievably,  still it goes on.

Every bad thing we do against nature, or each other, has an affect.  And so, by dropping 30 tonnes of Brodifacoum, which is used in rat poisons, to kill opossums, rats and rabbits, you can expect an enormous chain reaction which will, eventually, have an impact upon the wider environ and its people and wild life.  Brodifacoum in such a large volume will also affect climate to a degree, as well as all life including people, because the gases coming from the poison, and from decomposing birds and animals which have eaten it, will affect the senstive ozone protection in the sky, and so forth…

Well, my health has been severely affected by the Brodifacoum poisoning just a few kilometres away from where I live.  Sure – there has been a virus about – but it was the Brodifacoum poison, I believe, which weakened my immune system dramatically, so that I could not fight off the virus easily.  This fact has been proven with bees – It is a fact now, that bees are dying of a virus because their immune systems have become weakened by toxic agricultural chemicals, the main one being nicotinoids.  Scientists have shown that bees who were not exposed to this poison, did not succumb to the virus, and their hives stayed healthy.  But the bees whom the scientists had exposed to MICRODOSES of the nicotinoid poison, which could not be detected by scientific means in the bees afterwards, all succumbed to the virus which killed them.

So – microdoses of poisons DO affect life, as the microdoses of homeopathic medicine has proven, and as these scientists have proven with their experiments on bees.

Anyhow – back to getting the flu, and relating the ongoing symptoms to Brodifacoum. – It started with getting very wet and cold  one night.  I walked back from Red Beach in the driving rain one night,  which was probably the ‘storm’ we were warned about,  and got a dose of flu followed by bronchitis.  But this lasted about a month, with a distressing asthmatic-type cough that seemed to come back on any old day.  There was intermittent high fever, with profuse sweating – clothes had to be changed several times a day on some days.  Severe bone pain accompanied what I thought was ‘flu’ – but I began to suspect that something else was going on, because the bone pains with a streaming nose, even now,  still return on certain days, with what I can now discern to be, since the flu symptoms have gone, as allergy symptoms related to Brodifacoum.

Allergy to Brodifacoum.  These include a running nose, and slightly burning nostrils and lips, with sore eyes, blurred vision at times,  intermittent bone pain, intermittent neck pain at the base of the skull,  intermittent headache, and a sore throat with glands which are swollen on some days. There has also been an ongoing  bladder infection which was especially bad this past fortnight, after the last drop of 10 tonnes. I have realized that the Brodifacoum microdoses have caused the balance of  acidophilus bacteria to be affected, causing candida:  Digestion is impaired, as well as bowel function. The effect of the Brodifacoum is very weakening.  It can make you feel depressed and lethargic, because it affects the nervous system and the muscle strength.

The effect of this poison in the air (and has it got into our water already?) is even stronger in effect than taking a homeopathic remedy – except that this is NOT the remedy we have chosen.  The effect of the presence of this Brodifacoum in our environment, even though it will be in microdoses,  and probably not discernable to any ‘test’,  is undoubtably having a physical effect on the human body.

I did wonder about the Brodifacoum poisoning affecting my health, when I did not get better.  The sickness co-incided with the three 10 tonne drops of Brodifacoum.   And my friend Bernhard in spirit, told me to take Thuja, which is an anti-poison homeopathic remedy – very useful to counteract the effects of bad vaccinations, and sensitivity to things such as rat poison.

Now I have worked it out – because I feel better when I leave this otherwise beautiful environment, to head down to the ‘big smoke’ of Auckland.  Auckland air is currently better than our Orewa/Whangaparaoa air.  On returning here, the sore glands, sore throat and the coughing all return.

I could not decide this for sure beforehand, when I had the flu, as I was too sick to go anywhere.  But now that the virus has been overcome, I am well enough to travel again.  There is no doubt that our air, even in Orewa, is being affected by this poison about 5-8 kilometres away.  At night, when the air is still, especially when there is a fog,  the symptoms become worse, with persistent coughing, bone pains, and the rest. I can smell the poison.  I have another friend who is experiencing the very same symptoms, and who also relates these to the Brodifacoum poison down the road. But we are  sensitive – not many people will be aware of the poison to the same degree, however, it will be affecting many people just the same.  I feel sorry for those people who live very close to where the poison was dropped on Shakespear Regional Park.

The weather has been absolutely lovely lately – summer is here already, it seems – however, I am looking forward to the rain which should arrive on Wednesday 31st August 2011, as this should dispel some of these toxic vapours affecting my health.  the Brodifacoum fumes are currently in our air at Orewa.  Meanwhile, I am taking calcium ascorbate powder, which is a non-acidic form of vitamin C, to counteract the effects of the poison. The dosage I am using is between 1000 mg to 2000 mg a day.  I have been taking this for the past three days now, and the symptoms are markedly improved.  I am also taking the occasional dose of homeopathic Thuja.  Still, this does not stop the irritation to the lungs, eyes and nose, from the stuff present in the air.  Dear Lord, Please bring on the rain……….

Note:  Other factors which will be contributing to the prevalence of viruses of many kinds at the moment will be the effects of radiation from Japan’s Fukushima disaster, and from the dumping of  radioactive material, from Japan,  into the Pacific and onto the deserts of south  Australia  recently.  I have eaten fish and chips a few times in the past month.  I think that ocean fish are  slowly becoming contaminated with radiation from these sources.  Radiation, even in small amounts, like Brodifacoum, weakens the immune system so that we are  made more vulnerable to viruses and infectious diseases.

The poison problem is compounded for me at the moment because of insecticide, or herbicide,  which I smelt all around the vicinity of the big supermarket when I passed by it last night, in Orewa.  This is only a hundred yards away from my house. This localized poisoning could have been done by council, but I suspect it was the supermarket spraying poison around to get rid of cockroaches and ants, because it was a Sunday, and councils do not work on
Sundays.  If only people would use natural insecticides such as the homeopathic and organic products which are available, instead of these highly toxic substances which should not come anywhere near food storage places, or places occupied by people.

Antibiotic Medicine Harmed By Herbicides Including RoundUp

Toxic Chemicals Weaken Antibiotic Medicine As Well As Homeopathic Medicine

It was not surprising to hear on Radio New Zealand news just before Easter, that scientists have found that the efficacy of antibiotics is dramatically reduced by herbicides such as the glyphosphate-containing RoundUp weedkiller.

RoundUp and other toxic herbicides and pesticides, I find, have a dramatic effect on digestion, because they interfere with the natural digestive flora and enzymes in the body.

Candida infections, and bladder and kidney inflammations can result after being exposed to toxic chemicals which kill off the beneficial bacteria within the body, and change its natural, healthy,  pH level.

Other chemicals such as those found in printing inks and clothing dyes, and arsenic-treated timber, can also have a damaging effect on the health for the same reason.

It is a logical conclusion to draw, then, that if the natural and beneficial organisms living in the body’s digestive system can be killed off by toxic chemicals such as weedkiller and pesticides, that the organisms present within antibiotic medicines are likely to be affected too.

Many commonly used drugs are also likely to behave differently on the body when the digestive system is not functioning properly, as is the case when the useful digestive flora is damaged because of exposure to herbicides such as glyphosphates and neonicotinoid poisons or other harmful chemicals.

The efficacy of herbal medicines and homeopathy is also affected when a person has been exposed to chemical poisons such as weedkillers and pesticides.  Homeopathic preparations themselves are very sensitive to such poisons, and can be weakened if left in an area which has been made toxic for some reason.  People who use toxic chemicals, or even antibiotics and other pharmaceutical products, on a regular basis will find that Homeopathic medicines are not as effective as they are said to be, because of the negating effect of stronger chemicals.

It is now well known that antibiotics are losing their strength as disease-combatting medicines, because bacteria are becoming resistant to them.

And now it has been proven that RoundUp and other herbicides and pesticides are also diminishing the effect of antibiotics in curing disease.

Plenty of reasons, then, for governments world-wide to curb the free and irresponsible use of herbicides and pesticides.  They are not necessary for healthy agriculture:  We have survived thousand of years without these modern chemicals which are having an adverse effect on our environment and good health.

And nor is it necessary to use antibiotics and modern drugs.  They do have a purpose, of course, but often a simple herbal or homeopathic remedy will do just as well, or better, without the unwanted side effects you can expect from many modern drugs.

There are many good reasons to consider natural methods of farming and orcharding, as well as the use of Homeopathic remedies, Vitamin C therapy, Vitamin A therapy, and herbal medicine as alternatives to using vaccination antibiotics and other potentially harmful medicines.

Natural Remedies and Homeopathic Alternatives to Antibiotics:

Of course you need to consult your doctor if you or your child are suffering some infection.  Consult a registered homeopath for advice on what to use as an alternative to vaccination or immunization.  It is important to use just the right remedy for an illness, or for prevention.  So do consult an expert.

Here are some suggestions for you to discuss with your doctor or naturopath or homeopath.

Homeopathic Urtica Urens is a reputable medicine for kidney and bladder infections, especially if it is combined with the age-old remedy of drinking plenty of cooled, boiled water throughout the day.

Homeopathic Belladonna is used as a preventative for Scarlet Fever, or to treat it.

Homeopathic Ledum can be used as a preventative for Tetanus, or to use after an injury on farms or where horses have been kept.

Homeopathic Arsen Alb is excellent as a flu prevention, or to minimize the effects of flu if flu is already present.  There is no risk involved with using Arsen Alb for flu prevention, whereas the flu vaccination can be a risky thing.

Vitamin C in megadoses is a proven remedy to reverse illness. Swine flu, cancers of many kinds, and many other conditions of ill-health respond to Vitamin C therapy.  2000mg of non-acidic  vitamin c taken every hour or two will be quick to reduce flu symptoms in an adult.  Reduce the dose for a child.

Natural Remedies

Culpeper says of Sage that it ’causes the hair to become black’.

Garden sage has many therapeutic uses.

In the garden, its flowers provide medicine and nectar for the bees, as well as a herbal tonic to the neighbouring plants.

It is well-known as an aid to oral hygiene.  It has strong antiseptic qualities and is supposed to whiten tooth enamel.

Sage is still used today in some tooth-pastes.  It is reputedly one effective remedy for bleeding gums,  and improving gum health:  The crushed fresh leaves are massaged several times a day onto the gums and teeth.

The tea is gargled to relieve sore throats, colds and flu,  and ulcers in the mouth.

It can be effective to reduce fevers, and has been used in the past for thyphoid fever. (see ‘Herbal Remedies  and Homeopathy’ published by Geddes and Grosset.)

It is a valuable nerve medicine, and is a useful stomach remedy for improving a weak appetite.

Natural Herbal Hair Dye and Tonic:  Sage can help restore healthy hair and improve the colour.

Strong sage tea encourages hair growth and darkens the hair, if it is used on a regular basis. Many herbalists describe it in their writings:  see John Heinerman’s ‘Encyclopedia of Fruits Vegetables and Herbs’.

Rosemary is another wonderful herb which can help hair growth, but it does not have such a darkening effect on the hair, as sage does.

Recipe For Sage Hair Dye:  Here is a simple, natural hair dye and tonic which you can try.  It is perfectly safe to use, as it does not contain any harmful additives such as you might find in commercial dyes for darkening the hair.

Take two cups of fresh sage leaves and put into a stainless steel saucepan.

Add one cup of dry black tea leaves

Add half a cup of cider vinegar and eight cups of water.

Simmer very gently, with no lid, for one hour on a very low heat.  You should have around half the original quantity of liquid left at the end of an hour.  If you need to add a little more water, make sure you do so well before you finish simmering the brew.  If you add more water at the end of the simmering, then your mixture will not keep so well.

Take off the heat after an hour of simmering.  Set aside to cool.

Once your sage mixture has cooled properly, strain it off.

To the liquid remaining add the same amount of vodka.

Put into a bottle with a screw-top lid and store in a cool place.

Massage around a tablespoonful of the sage infusion into the hair each day.  Use more or less, depending on how much hair you need to cover.

Massage the sage tonic well into the roots of the hair as well, so that it feeds the scalp and hair follicles.  Massaging the scalp with the sage tonic will help the hair to grow again.

The oils in the sage leaves will put a natural shine to the hair.

Once the hair is sufficiently darkened, which may take several weeks, you can reduce the amount of applications each week.  Once or twice a week may be enough to maintain the darker colour.

Sage is really very good for the hair in so many ways.

Alternative Sage Tonic Without Alcohol:  You could make up your sage tea without the alcohol if you wish.  Only, remember that your mixture will not keep for longer than a week, and it must be kept in the fridge.  You could make up a lesser amount, enough to last a week, and then make up a fresh brew of tea for the following week.

Allergy To Printing Ink And Bleached Paper Causes Candida

Toxic Chemicals

I been aware of the toxic nature of printing inks and paper for many years.  The chemicals used in the paper and printing industries, such as chlorine bleach, formaldehyde, and goodness knows what else, can upset the intestinal flora, which can result in candida outbreaks.

Migraine headaches, poor memory, high or low blood pressure, nausea, nervous twitches and other allergic symptoms can result in sensitive people who become over-exposed to these chemicals.  In time, if exposure to these chemicals continues, then I believe that serious diseases such as multiple sclerosis, parkinson’s. cancer, and arthritis could arise, especially with the synergistic effect of RoundUp weedkiller or other toxic pesticides which people commonly use.

Interesting to note that just last Saturday, I heard the news on radio which told us of the discovery that some antibiotics are made redundant by weedkillers such as RoundUp.

Well, this is no surprise:  I do not talk about using antibiotics much, as I am a proponent of the homeopathic/holistic approach.  But I have found weedkillers and pesticides such as snail bait to cause severe candidiasis when my neighbours have used these chemicals.  If they so readily kill bacteria in the bowel, then they will also be capable of destroying antibiotic medicines.

Studying at university was made especially difficult for me, because of my sensitivity to photocopied material.  Handling photocopies, or handling newsprint on a daily basis caused me migraine headaches, nausea, made my nerves shake, and affected my memory.

Handling cardboard boxes also causes these problems: on the occasions I have been moving house, which has required the handling of a good many boxes over a good many days, I have become sick with the same old allergies.

The allergy to printing inks and bleached papers became even more acute during the time that New Zealand’s MAF was regularly aerially spraying toxic chemicals over much of Auckland, ostensibly to rid us of the ‘apple moth’, around 2003 to 2005.  This spraying of our environment made many people very ill.  Eventually, Victoria |University in Wellington proved that the apple moth poison was most definitely adversely affecting the health of Aucklanders, and so the programme was stopped.

I have found that printing inks and bleached paper if you are exposed to enough of them,  are about as damaging to the immune system as herbicides such as RoundUp, and many toxic pesticides.  They all have the effect of killing off the good bacteria in the digestive system, which causes inadequate digestion and allergies or sensitivities to various foods.

It is a fortunate thing, though, that one can avoid over-exposure to printing ink/paper toxins, and it surely is unfortunate that we often have no choice in the matter regarding our exposure to toxic herbicides and pesticides:  we have to suffer the latter because there is no law which prevents people from poisoning our environment.

But even without harmful chemicals such as ‘RoundUp’, or apple moth spray, printing ink chemicals, and bleached paper still make me sick if exposure to them goes on for long.

Very recently, I was offered a great deal to have the local newspaper delivered, and so |I decided to try it.  I thought that if I was very careful, and kept the newspapers out of the house, then I might be able to enjoy reading the paper each day.

After around two weeks, all the old allergic reactions appeared.  After three weeks or so of continuing to receive the papers, I felt I might have a stroke.  Now I have stopped handling and reading the papers until the alllergy symptoms subside.

Natural Remedies to Counteract Allergic Reaction:  Homeopathic Arnica/Symphytum is working well to reduce blood pressure and relieve the headache.  Thuja on occasion is also good.  Rhus Tox did not work so well, but instead, exacerbated the symptoms of poisoning. Arnica/Symphytum has a very cooling, calming effect, is great for shocks to the system, and so I am sticking to that for the next few days.

Note:  The Arnica was followed by Urtica Urens once it became apparent that I had developed a urinary infection.  Chlorine bleach and formaldehyde, found in printing inks and newspaper, alter  the pH level.  This results in an over-alkaline body which can breed urinary or bladder infections.  I remember this was a problem whilst studying at uni and handling so many photocopies. Photocopy toxins, plus MAF’s apple-moth killing toxic chemicals being sprayed every few weeks over Auckland , resulted in almost continual urinary tract infections.

Three consecutive doses of 2000mg of non-acidic Vitamin C in the one day, plus around 5 doses of Homeopathic Urtica Urens 30C, served to rapidly fix the kidney and bladder infection.

I wondered about my neighbour, who had a mild stroke only a week ago:  He h as a weak heart and is prone to strokes, but he also gets his paper delivered.

Blood pressure was affected, causing the body to overheat, with extreme migraine headache and bloodshot eyes.  The smell of the newsprint seems to have permeated the house, even though the discarded papers are kept outside the back door.

I have stopped the delivery for the weekdays, but have decided to try getting just the weekend papers.  My aim this time is to wear protective gloves so that I do not absorb any chemicals from the paper through the skin on the hands.

I figure if I want to avoid a stroke and memory loss, both of which are healthy concerns to keep with my advancing age, then I it will pay to be extra cautious about the handling of such things as newsprint or photocopied material of any kind:  This is one area of my environment which I do have some control over.

Temporary Allergy To Drying Sage Leaves

Sudden extreme sensitivity to newspaper print caused a sudden allergy to the sage leaves which I picked only yesterday.  They have had to go back out into the garden, along with the newspapers which are awaiting the paper collection on Friday.

Sage is usually OK for me to keep in the house in small quantities.  I had picked several cupsful this time, to dry before the winter.  The effect of having these leaves outside the door in the sun was simply intolerable today, after becoming sensitized to the newsprint.

This evening, I have discarded all the sage into the furthermost point of the garden.    Sage is obviously a borderline item for me, which I am probably best to leave alone, except for picking a leaf or two of fresh sage occasionally, straight from the garden.

Herbs like sage, in quantities far beyond that needed for flavouring one dish, can have a very disturbing effect on the nervous system.

I do not think that I will be dying my graying hair black with sage afterall.

Conclusion:  Herbs in concentration need to be avoided by sensitive people.

Stop 1080 Poisoning Or We Will Add It To NZ Infant Formula

Environment And Health Concern

Today’s NZ Herald on Wednesday, 11th March, 2015, published a front-page article on the potential threat made by 1080 protestors to New Zealand-made infant formula.

The threat has been made by someone, or a group of people, who objects/object to the national government’s stance on 1080 poison.

If the government does not stop its distribution of 1080 by the end of the month, then the protestors say they will poison infant formula with 1080.

This national government currently condones the nation-wide poisoning of New Zealand by the pesticide 1080, and they refuse to back down on their plan to keep using it despite all the evidence which proves it to be devastating to the environment.  It gets into the water-ways and, eventually, into our food.

Although the amounts in water and in our food might be very small, or considered ‘safe’ by the authorities, it has been shown that even small amounts of toxic substances such as neonicotinoids have a devastating effect on bees, for a start.  It is very likely that small amounts of 1080 and other poisonous chemicals in our environment could cause the outbreaks of cancer, multiple sclerosis, Parkinson’s disese, and asthma in sensitive people:  Just as the whole of a hive can be affected by miniscule amounts of insecticide, whole groups of people could be affected similarly.

Read my posts about scientific evidence which shows how minute doses of neonicotinoids can cause bee colony collapse disorder.

Bee Colony Collapse Disorder

Bayer Says Stop Campaign To Save Bees Or We Will Sue

Nicotinoid Insecticides Kill Bees And Harm Humans

Homeopathically, 1080 will have an effect of some sort, no matter what dilution it finds itself in:  there is always a cause and effect, just as the neonicotinoid insecticide predisposed bees to a virus, resulting in bee colony collapse disorder on a massive scale throughout Europe.

The Labour government similarly ignored the effects of the ‘apple moth’ spraying over Auckland in the early 2000’s. This poisoning lasted several years, with regular, expensive full-page advertising in the New Zealand Herald newspaper which told us the spray was safe, until Victoria University of Wellington finally proved conclusively that the stuff was indeed making Aucklanders very sick.

After the initial three weeks of the programme, when letters were received objecting to the spray being used, the NZ Herald published a statement saying that no more discussion would be entered into on the issue.  From that point, no adverse comments or any articles were published about the apple moth spray’s toxic effects.  We who objected to the spray being used, and there were thousands of us, were effectively silenced by the media who were obviously obeying orders from above.

Thanks to Victoria University, the spraying was stopped, eventually.

Too late for some:I was forced to leave Auckland, as were many other people, because of the ‘apple moth’ spraying which occurred on a regular basis over the summer months.

More recently, in 2012, Brodifacoum was laid on the Whangaparaoa Shakespear Park.  Within a week, around 20,000 of dead seagulls were found washed up on the shores of Maraetai Beach, which is only a short drive away from Orewa Beach near Whangaparaoa.  The dead birds were blamed on a storm at sea.

To add 1080 poison to infant formula would certainly be a horrendous and murderous act, but I must say that the ploy has attracted the attention of the media in no uncertain way, which is probably the intention of the threat, in my opinion.

Media attention on the matter of toxic herbicides and pesticides is what we need.  They are usually very reluctant to bring agrichemicals to the fore of their attention:  Big business conveniently dictates the topics of our media to their advantage.

1080 is a dreadful poison which kills all animal and bird life which comes into contact with it.

Last year sometime, around June, 2014, I went with a friend to climb Mount Te Aroha, the mountain of love, only about 30 kilometres away from where I live.

There were signs at the bottom of the walkway up the mountain which warned against taking dogs up, and which advised sticking to the path, because 1080 had been laid there recently.

We climbed a good way up – about a third the length of the pathway to the top – but we did not see ONE bird, nor did we hear any bird calls during our half-hour walk up.  And no sign of bird-life at all on our walk back down.

1080 is a devastating poison, and we are only using it in New Zealand because of manipulations by the chemical company who makes it, and our environmentally blind government.

There is big money tied up in using such chemicals on a grand scale, where literally thousands of hectares of land all over the country is being poisoned.

You simply cannot ‘go bush’ to ‘get away from it all’ any more:  Chances are, the secluded spot you dreamt about will be more toxic than the city you left behind.

Wake up, New Zealand.  Already, we seem powerless to prevent mass poisoning of our lands and bush, but if TPPA is passed, we will not even be allowed to talk about our fears, lest we get sued by the megagiant makers of toxic agricultural chemicals.
