Just what is Beatle Ringo Starr doing now? – Well, quite a lot today, according to the news on our television tonight. Note that this post was put up in 2010 to celebrate Ringo’s 70th birthday, but I have put up the latest news on Ringo for October 2011 beneath this birthday post, which tells about the London gathering of the clans to celebrate the Premiere of Martin Scorcese’s new film about George Harrison just last week, October 2011.
It is the 7th July 2010 in New Zealand. On the Channel One news tonight we saw that not only is the Beatle Ringo Starr alive and well, but that he is still attracting the crowds, is looking pretty jolly cool, and is still singing “All You Need Is Love‘. He looks really fab, in fact. People of all ages love Ringo, most especially people my own age, which is just a little younger than Ringo. We have always loved him, as we did George Harrison, and the other Beatles, for their message of love and peace. But we all love Ringo’s cheery smile. Ringo has always had such a cheerful and bouyant attitude to life, which is jolly is infectious. He seems to embody the famous message of the Beatles fab songs, defined in that wonderful everlasting gem-of-gems, “All You Need Is Love”. The older we get, the more that we realize how true this is, and how important it is to be in harmony with the world, and oneself.
Question: What is Ringo Starr doing today, in New York?
Answer: Today Ringo Starr is celebrating his 70th birthday in New York.

A large and happy hippie crowd gathered today in New York, to celebrate the Starr’s birthday with him.
The theme song was, of course, “All You Need is Love’. Ringo said that Peace and Love were all that his fans needed to bring along with them. This themesong still rings true today, and the more we sing about Peace and Love again, the better for everybody in the world, I’m sure Ringo would agree.
What is Ringo Starr’s Recipe For Health these days?
Ringo looks incredibly hip and healthy – pretty cool for a 70 year old. He says that he looks after himself these days and that he eats ‘broccoli with everything’.
Really great to see the hip rocker still rocking on with his timeless message. Go Ringo. Keep eating that broccoli.
Update On Ringo: A week ago today on 8th October NZ time sees ex-Beatle drummer Ringo Starr in the news again. Ringo attended the film premiere of Martin Scorcese’s new documentary on George Harrison’s life in London on the 2nd October 2011. This movie which documents George’s early childhood in Liverpool to his death, is entitled “Living In The Material World” It was made in collaboration with guitarit George Harrison’s wife, Olivia Harrison. Other stars which attended the Scorcese film premiere were ex-Beatle Sir Paul McCartney, his new fiancee Nancy Shevell, and Yoko Ono, who was ex-Beatle John Lenon’s wife. Ronnie Wood of the Rolling Stones was there, as well as Monty Python star Michael Palin. This gathering must have been a wonderful but nostalgic celebration for the survivors of this golden age of music and the ‘flower-power’ ideology which went with it.
