Global Amnesia Cause Probably RoundUp Glyphosate Formaldehyde

Toxic Herbicides

Temporary Global Amnesia Probably Caused By Glyphosate In RoundUp, and Formaldehyde In Dye and Cosmetics.

Memory Loss as well as asthma, could be linked to environmental poisons. The proliferation of glyphosate, in RoundUp, around our local environments is no doubt causing health problems for many people.  These health problems, I am sure, are often misdiagnosed, or misunderstood as to their simple cause.

A quote from the ‘Otago Daily Times’, Friday 10th February, 2017::

‘Any frontal attack on ignorance is bound to fail because the masses are always ready to defend their most precious possession, their ignorance.’  Thus spake Hendrik Willem van Loon, a Dutch-American journalist and lecturer (1882-1944).

I am frequently reminded of this idea, as I go about my business trying to educate people as to the extremely harmful effects of toxic herbicides and pesticides-insecticides.  Many people still wish to believe that their asthma, hay-fever or sinus problems, are entirely due to pollen, and the time of year known as the ‘hay-fever’ season.

Meanwhile, hundreds of bees die after a deluge of poison spray was distributed around the outlying areas of Dunedin.  The destruction of the natural environment is plain for all to see, but still, people do not make the connection between massive spraying programmes, which usually occur over the summer period, and their ill-health. They can walk for miles on country roads which have been sprayed heavily with toxic stuff, and afterward still blame their ‘hay-fever’ on flying pollen.

We have been brain-washed.  We have been conditioned into accepting the eye-sore of sprayed verges, and the bad consequences to health and environment are conveniently overlooked by our brains. People seem to be blind to the toxic, yellowed and dying grasses and herbs on each side of the road, and do not consider that the spray which has killed the grasses will also kill insects, bees, birds, and ultimately affect our own health and the health of our pets.

I have been taking regular long walks with a neighbour who knows the Dunedin area well.  Wonderful walks they are, when they are not spoilt by toxic herbicides such as Round-Up.  Unfortunately, these country roads have been sprayed heavily since around Christmas time, 2016. Last week, on Thursday 9th February 2017, we went to do another country walk up near the Brockville reservoir, but I had to turn back because of the spray which still smelt strongly, and which had killed off miles of grass, as far as we could see, down the hill, along both sides of the roadway.

I thought it was prudent to decline this walking experience, since I had become very ill a couple of weeks ago, with excruciating chest pain around the left lung, after walking for an hour and a half down roads which were ALL sprayed heavily with what I guess was Monsanto’s glyphosate-containing Round-Up herbicide. This walk had resulted in sudden water in the middle ear, which came on the same night after exposure to the spray. A couple of days later, chest pain was so severe, and breathing was so alarmingly difficult, that I worried I might have asthma, and would have to go to hospital for some oxygen.

Fortunately, Homeopathic Bryonia and Ferr phos came to the rescue, along with large doses of Vitamin C, bedrest and a hot-water bottle over the chest.

I really did not want another hospital visit:  On New Year’s Eve, 2016, I was taken to Dunedin Hospital  after suddenly collapsing from some mysterious cause.  There, I was treated very well and very kindly by all staff, thoroughly examined, with blood tests, X-Rays, brain scan – the works.  Nothing could be found which could be the cause of this ‘Temporary Global Amnesia’ which had struck me down.

I am fairly sure now what the main cause was -it was, and is, the RoundUp spraying which has been happening around Dunedin and its outskirts.  We had taken several long walks down country roads which had been sprayed about this time.

The other, secondary, cause which I suspect is formaldehyde which was in the new lip-stick I had been wearing each day for around a month or more, and in the new socks I had been wearing.

These brand new, Chinese-made, black socks I had been wearing still smelt strongly of dye after they had been washed.  It was not at all sensible to be wearing these suspect socks, as I knew that cheap Chinese dyed fabrics often had formaldehyde traces far beyond that which was considered  acceptable by our health authorities.  But still I wore them, because I was in a hurry that day.

I had to go to Mosgiel:  on the way over there on the bus, and coming back, I saw many work-people spraying and culling out weeds and plants along the motorway’s edge.

I began to feel very strange and sick in Mosgiel.  By the time I had gone back home, taking two buses to reach there, still wearing the dubious new black-dyed socks, as well as the new lip-stick, I was nearing collapse.  My memory failed me, and all I could see at one stage was white light.

At the hospital, I was worried I had left my teeth somewhere. I remember telling the ambulance man I had lost them.  ‘Never mind, we will find them’, he said with great assurance.

After something to eat and drink, and a comfortable bed to lie in, my memory seemed to restore itself. I remembered I had not lost my teeth at all, because I had not worn false teeth for years.  Formaldehyde and other toxins in the plastic denture had caused problems with nerves and memory in the past, so I had thrown them away. I told this to the good doctor who commented on the lip-stick “But you didn’t forget your lip-stick’, he said, looking at my lips which I had just smeared over with the new lip-stick again.  As if lip-stick could disguise the fact I had no teeth.  Very funny, really.

‘Do you believe in God?’ he asked.  I said ‘yes’.  ‘Well – all tests are normal.  I think God is trying to tell you something’, he said, gazing at my painted lips.

I considered the lipstick and how I had thought it probably unsafe the first time I had used it. It had caused a burning sensation on the lips, but with a cold taste which I suspected was formaldehyde. I had foolishly continued to use it.

I remembered also how my health had been affected each time the council sprayed RoundUp-glyphosate around the town, including our gardens and doorways in Morrinsville.  It always caused a myriad of symptoms, often appearing as if I had the flu, but the most alarming thing was that it affected my brain.  I would get these sudden lapses of memory, with white light flashing, and feel that I was about to collapse.  This feeling was reminiscent of being overdosed with formaldehyde, which happened when I had peritonitis at the age of five years.

Medical science had only recently discovered the antiseptic qualities of formaldehyde around 1955-56, when my life was saved by an urgent operation on the appendix.

Hospitals had gone overboard on the use of formaldehyde.  A glass of it lay on the table beside each  hospital bed, and in the glass was kept the thermometer.  The hospital staff used to come around regularly to take my temperature, just as I was recovering from the effects of the formaldehyde from the last temperature reading.  They would simply take the thermometer out of the glass, shake it a bit, and put it straight into your mouth.  Then I would see the white light, and I would be out-to-it for goodness knows how long.

I tried battling the hospital staff to refuse the thermometer being stuck into my mouth, as I knew it was the stuff in the glass which was making me pass out and lose my memory and bearings.  But to no avail.  They knew the effect of the formaldehyde, I am sure, and so with a bit more effort on their part, with the thermometer thrust in my mouth, they would have me silenced for a few hours again.

I have a clear memory of just how distressed I was after the experience of formaldehyde poisoning at the hospital. My mother used carbon tetrachloride as a dry cleaner.  This smelt so remarkably like the formaldehyde in the glass by the bed at the hospital.  She only needed to take off the cap, or even take down the bottle of carbon tetrachloride, and I would scream, terrified, and run outside to escape being suffocated by the fumes.

So, I am more sensitive than most people to harmful, toxic chemicals such as glyphosate, RoundUp and formaldehyde, but I believe everybody suffers some sort of ill health as a result of exposure to these poisons. In some people, annoying hay-fever or sinus trouble could be evident, but in others, cancer, asthma, arthritis, and other degenerative disease could eventuate if one experiences  continual or regular exposure to harmful toxic chemicals and sprays.

WHO, World Health Organization, have declared glyphosate in RoundUp, marketed by Monsanto, to be a probable cause of cancer.  I believe, as well as cancer and candida problems,  it is a probable cause of many types of brain malfunction, including memory loss, arthritis, bone problems, and nervous system diseases such as multiple sclerosis, and Parkinson’s.

Weight Loss Research Shows Thunder God Vine Slows Appetite

Natural Remedies

Harvard Medical School has just published a paper in the science journal ‘Cell’ on 20th May, 2015 which indicates the Chinese herb ‘Thunder God Vine’ could be very promising for curing obesity.

Radio New Zealand gave us a report on the new findings today, Saturday 23 May, 2015, just before 1PM.

With the numbers of obesity growing throughout the world now – over a third of the population is supposed to come under the obese category – the need to find a non-toxic and effective remedy for weight loss is becoming urgent.

A selection of herbal remedies, known to be helpful in weight loss, were used in the recent Harvard studies:  The one which came top of the list for its effectiveness was the Thunder God Vine.  It has the remarkable capacity to slow down the appetite because of a compound called Leptin.

Leptin warns the brain that you have had enough to eat. People who are deficient in Leptin eat too much because they still feel hungry, even after eating a full meal.

This ancient herb, which is native to China, Korea and Japan, has been used in Chinese medicine for centuries.

Research on mice at Harvard has proved that Leptin in the Thunder God Vine reduced appetite, causing weight loss.  A reduced food intake resulted in a 45% weight loss over several weeks of taking the herb each day.

And there have been no toxic effects observed in the use of the herb.

The Leptin within the Thunder God Vine looks to be very promising for curing obesity:  It has the capacity to awaken the appetite centre in the brain, so that instead of ignoring those signals to stop eating, when you already have a full tummy, the brain will have the right response.  With the help of Leptin from the Thunder God, you should feel full after a meal, and not want to overeat.

Of course, the herb will not be enough on its own in maintaining a healthy body.  Adequate exercise must be taken.

Food choices should still be sensible ones, with sugary foods, wheat flour breads and cakes all omitted from the diet Yeast products should be avoided too.

It is really best to avoid dairy foods as well, and use soya milk instead of dairy milk. Remember that the pastures where dairy cows graze have been sprayed with many chemicals, and these chemicals get absorbed in concentration in the cow’s milk.  Some of these chemicals can cause cancer and other health problems, such as obesity and depression. See the paragraph on herbicides and pesticides below.

Another negative aspect of dairy milk is that it is spoilt for human consumption by pasteurization. Pasteurized milk is difficult to digest properly, and many people  have a problem with it.  Dairy milk, and especially pasteurized dairy milk, causes mucous to form in the intestines, and this milk makes a home for intestinal parasites, or worms.

If the milk is not digested properly, then it causes bloating in the bowel, which causes the stomach to swell.  Wheat products can do the same thing.  Wheat bread is especially bad when it is made with yeast, as the yeast tends to continue fermenting in the intestines.

Food additives in the way of colourings, preservatives and flavourings, are a must to avoid.  Many of these chemicals have very damaging effects on the health, as well as the appetite.

Another thing to be careful to avoid is herbicides and pesticides, as these can interfere with the body and brain functions in many ways which are damaging to health.  The glyphosphate weedkiller such as RoundUp is very bad, and I believe that the world-wide use of this is one major cause of obesity.  It damages the natural intestinal flora, killing off the beneficial bacteria and increasing others, such as candida albicans, which causes yeast infections.

Basically, RoundUp and many other agricultural chemicals alter the balance of organisms in the bowel.  When candida gets out of control, it means you do not digest your food properly, your immune system is weakened, and you are likely to fall sick.  Deficiencies in nutrients can arise, which can lead you to be continually hungry.

When these chemicals are sprayed continually around your environment, then you really are in trouble.

The other thing that some of these herbicides and pesticides do is alter the hormonal secretions:  The pineal and pituitary glands, I find, are noticeably affected.  These centres seem to become inflamed and disconnected from the brain after exposure to weed-killer such as glyphosphate-containing RoundUp.  These important energy centres can get out of control, doing their own thing regardless of what the body needs. The disturbances in their normal functioning can cause a feeling of alienation from the world, as well as depression and appetite disturbances.

Last, but not least, meditation and yoga can help enormously to de-stress the body and brain.  Yoga Nidra, an ancient practice of relaxation, is a wonderful technique which can relax the brain,  allowing you to reprogramme yourself, devoid of the emotional clutter which prevents you from really enjoying your life.

Natural Remedies

Culpeper says of Sage that it ’causes the hair to become black’.

Garden sage has many therapeutic uses.

In the garden, its flowers provide medicine and nectar for the bees, as well as a herbal tonic to the neighbouring plants.

It is well-known as an aid to oral hygiene.  It has strong antiseptic qualities and is supposed to whiten tooth enamel.

Sage is still used today in some tooth-pastes.  It is reputedly one effective remedy for bleeding gums,  and improving gum health:  The crushed fresh leaves are massaged several times a day onto the gums and teeth.

The tea is gargled to relieve sore throats, colds and flu,  and ulcers in the mouth.

It can be effective to reduce fevers, and has been used in the past for thyphoid fever. (see ‘Herbal Remedies  and Homeopathy’ published by Geddes and Grosset.)

It is a valuable nerve medicine, and is a useful stomach remedy for improving a weak appetite.

Natural Herbal Hair Dye and Tonic:  Sage can help restore healthy hair and improve the colour.

Strong sage tea encourages hair growth and darkens the hair, if it is used on a regular basis. Many herbalists describe it in their writings:  see John Heinerman’s ‘Encyclopedia of Fruits Vegetables and Herbs’.

Rosemary is another wonderful herb which can help hair growth, but it does not have such a darkening effect on the hair, as sage does.

Recipe For Sage Hair Dye:  Here is a simple, natural hair dye and tonic which you can try.  It is perfectly safe to use, as it does not contain any harmful additives such as you might find in commercial dyes for darkening the hair.

Take two cups of fresh sage leaves and put into a stainless steel saucepan.

Add one cup of dry black tea leaves

Add half a cup of cider vinegar and eight cups of water.

Simmer very gently, with no lid, for one hour on a very low heat.  You should have around half the original quantity of liquid left at the end of an hour.  If you need to add a little more water, make sure you do so well before you finish simmering the brew.  If you add more water at the end of the simmering, then your mixture will not keep so well.

Take off the heat after an hour of simmering.  Set aside to cool.

Once your sage mixture has cooled properly, strain it off.

To the liquid remaining add the same amount of vodka.

Put into a bottle with a screw-top lid and store in a cool place.

Massage around a tablespoonful of the sage infusion into the hair each day.  Use more or less, depending on how much hair you need to cover.

Massage the sage tonic well into the roots of the hair as well, so that it feeds the scalp and hair follicles.  Massaging the scalp with the sage tonic will help the hair to grow again.

The oils in the sage leaves will put a natural shine to the hair.

Once the hair is sufficiently darkened, which may take several weeks, you can reduce the amount of applications each week.  Once or twice a week may be enough to maintain the darker colour.

Sage is really very good for the hair in so many ways.

Alternative Sage Tonic Without Alcohol:  You could make up your sage tea without the alcohol if you wish.  Only, remember that your mixture will not keep for longer than a week, and it must be kept in the fridge.  You could make up a lesser amount, enough to last a week, and then make up a fresh brew of tea for the following week.

Antibiotic Medicine Harmed By Herbicides Including RoundUp

Toxic Chemicals Weaken Antibiotic Medicine As Well As Homeopathic Medicine

It was not surprising to hear on Radio New Zealand news just before Easter, that scientists have found that the efficacy of antibiotics is dramatically reduced by herbicides such as the glyphosphate-containing RoundUp weedkiller.

RoundUp and other toxic herbicides and pesticides, I find, have a dramatic effect on digestion, because they interfere with the natural digestive flora and enzymes in the body.

Candida infections, and bladder and kidney inflammations can result after being exposed to toxic chemicals which kill off the beneficial bacteria within the body, and change its natural, healthy,  pH level.

Other chemicals such as those found in printing inks and clothing dyes, and arsenic-treated timber, can also have a damaging effect on the health for the same reason.

It is a logical conclusion to draw, then, that if the natural and beneficial organisms living in the body’s digestive system can be killed off by toxic chemicals such as weedkiller and pesticides, that the organisms present within antibiotic medicines are likely to be affected too.

Many commonly used drugs are also likely to behave differently on the body when the digestive system is not functioning properly, as is the case when the useful digestive flora is damaged because of exposure to herbicides such as glyphosphates and neonicotinoid poisons or other harmful chemicals.

The efficacy of herbal medicines and homeopathy is also affected when a person has been exposed to chemical poisons such as weedkillers and pesticides.  Homeopathic preparations themselves are very sensitive to such poisons, and can be weakened if left in an area which has been made toxic for some reason.  People who use toxic chemicals, or even antibiotics and other pharmaceutical products, on a regular basis will find that Homeopathic medicines are not as effective as they are said to be, because of the negating effect of stronger chemicals.

It is now well known that antibiotics are losing their strength as disease-combatting medicines, because bacteria are becoming resistant to them.

And now it has been proven that RoundUp and other herbicides and pesticides are also diminishing the effect of antibiotics in curing disease.

Plenty of reasons, then, for governments world-wide to curb the free and irresponsible use of herbicides and pesticides.  They are not necessary for healthy agriculture:  We have survived thousand of years without these modern chemicals which are having an adverse effect on our environment and good health.

And nor is it necessary to use antibiotics and modern drugs.  They do have a purpose, of course, but often a simple herbal or homeopathic remedy will do just as well, or better, without the unwanted side effects you can expect from many modern drugs.

There are many good reasons to consider natural methods of farming and orcharding, as well as the use of Homeopathic remedies, Vitamin C therapy, Vitamin A therapy, and herbal medicine as alternatives to using vaccination antibiotics and other potentially harmful medicines.

Natural Remedies and Homeopathic Alternatives to Antibiotics:

Of course you need to consult your doctor if you or your child are suffering some infection.  Consult a registered homeopath for advice on what to use as an alternative to vaccination or immunization.  It is important to use just the right remedy for an illness, or for prevention.  So do consult an expert.

Here are some suggestions for you to discuss with your doctor or naturopath or homeopath.

Homeopathic Urtica Urens is a reputable medicine for kidney and bladder infections, especially if it is combined with the age-old remedy of drinking plenty of cooled, boiled water throughout the day.

Homeopathic Belladonna is used as a preventative for Scarlet Fever, or to treat it.

Homeopathic Ledum can be used as a preventative for Tetanus, or to use after an injury on farms or where horses have been kept.

Homeopathic Arsen Alb is excellent as a flu prevention, or to minimize the effects of flu if flu is already present.  There is no risk involved with using Arsen Alb for flu prevention, whereas the flu vaccination can be a risky thing.

Vitamin C in megadoses is a proven remedy to reverse illness. Swine flu, cancers of many kinds, and many other conditions of ill-health respond to Vitamin C therapy.  2000mg of non-acidic  vitamin c taken every hour or two will be quick to reduce flu symptoms in an adult.  Reduce the dose for a child.

March Against Monsanto Planned New York 23 May 2015

Why Is Monsanto So Toxic To Farming?

Monsanto’s monopoly of agriculture will see the end of sustainable, self-perpetuating agriculture if we are forced to buy their patented, genetically fucked-up seeds each year.

This article is a follow-up from the previous article,

Organic USA Farmers Sue Monsanto For Contamination Of Crops

They, and other big seed and agrichemical companies such as DuPont and Syngenta, will be the richer for monopolizing agriculture, whilst the people will be the poorer for having to pay annually to use their seeds.

We Will All Have To Pay For All Seeds – Reusing last year’s seeds will not be an option unless the tight and punitive control exerted by these big corrupt companies is ended.

The trouble is that genetically modified patented seed is spreading so rapidly throughout the world, there will be no original seeds left before long.  This will mean that Monsanto and such companies will be able to make EVERYBODY pay for ALL seeds, because the legality of the matter allows them to fine people, even when a farmer’s heritage seeds have become accidentally contaminated by patented, genetically modified seed.

Heritage Strains Are Disappearing.

Companies such as Monsanto are putting our Heritage Plants and Seeds at risk:  Heritage seeds are disappearing because of the predominance of Monsanto’s biotech, genetically modified seeds.

Monsanto’s genetically modified seeds are migrating onto organic farms, and non-biotech farms, which have their own seeds.  The result is cross-pollination of Heritage seeds and all other non-biotech seeds. These seeds are genetically changed, which means the original plant is lost.

Monsanto Gaining Stronghold On Agriculture: The ruthless litigious approach towards all competitors, including organic farmers, is resulting in a monopoly of our agricultural system by the Biotech giants Monsanto, DuPont, and other huge corporations.

Monsanto has so far taken 145 farmers to court for what they claim is ‘patent infringement’ of seed usage since 1997.   They have won all 145 cases which has seen them benefit by over 23 million dollars in damages.

The TPPA – Trans Pacific Partnership Agreement is a very real threat to agriculture and to Free Speech in New Zealand, and all the other countries involved.  The TPPA will put us under USA law, which means the big seed and agri-chemical companies will be able to sue anyone here who gets in the way of their profit and domination of the seed industry.  Read more about how it will affect us if it goes ahead:  http://www.itsourfuture.org.nz/what-is-the-tppa/

We need to act now to prevent farmers and householders from being sued if Monsanto seeds have accidentally migrated onto farms or backyards, and to protect the right to grow whatever seeds we choose.

We want to be able to reuse seeds, whether or not they originate from Monsanto’s biotech laboratories.  Monsanto prohibits the saving of seed for the next year’s crop.

Say No To Monsanto’s Harmful RoundUp Weedkiller:  Act now to stop Monsanto and other chemical and seed giants from marketing harmful glyphosphate chemicals such as RoundUp.

Now Monsanto has developed seed strains which are resistant to the effects of RoundUp.  These seeds are marketed as ‘RoundUp Ready’.  Not only do you have a patented seed which you will have to pay for each year, you are encouraged to buy their RoundUp glyphosphate, which is extremely destructive to human health, natural flora and fauna, and especially to bees.

RoundUp and similar toxic weedkillers affect our immune systems very badly.  A weakened immune system can lead to cancer, multiple sclerosis, Parkinson’s disease, arthritis, and many other diseases.

It’s immediate effect is on the helpful bacteria in the bowel:  They are destroyed, which means that candida can overtake the ‘good’ bacteria.  Candida infections pave the way to serious disease if you suffer long-standing candida trouble.

If you are being regularly exposed to glyphosphate-RoundUp and such chemicals, which often happens with council spraying programmes, or it is continually in your food supply, then you are at risk of cancer and other diseases, because of the digestive flora being out of balance.

RoundUp can seriously affect your health.

Join in the action against Monsanto and other seed and agrichemical giants by attending this protest.

New York City Free Schools and FoodJustice have organized this huge demonstration against Monsanto.  The date is the 23rd May, 2015.

See the links below for details of this must-not-miss protest against Monsanto.

On the facebook page which advertises the march against Monsanto, the caption reads:

‘They have poisoned the food supply through negligence and undermined the farming system through monopolization.’

Yes, and if I lived in New York, I would be sure to join this march.  I hope New Zealanders get together on the same day to protest against Monsanto’s monopolization of agriculture in NZ, and also against their continued use of the glyphosphate-containing RoundUp weedkiller, which is made by Monsanto.

RoundUp Glyphosphate weedkiller is used by New Zealand municipal authorities all over the country, as well as on dairy farms, orchards, and around market gardens. Our roadways, grass verges, parks, and nature walks are all sprayed with RoundUp to keep the weeds at bay.

Apart from the poisonous aspect of the stuff, it is a crime to be paying Monsanto for tons of RoundUp each year, when the simple weeding of these areas could give unemployed people a very pleasant job.

The European Commission has recently, in January, 2015, banned the use and sale of Glyphosphate weedkillers, which includes Monsanto’s RoundUp.

Glyphosphates, including RoundUp, have been already banned in Holland and Mexico, and other countries are bound to follow the example of these countries.

Glyphosphate-RoundUp has been proven to be destructive to bees as well as humans, yet Monsanto and other agrichemical companies are defending its use vehemently.

Now, typically, the European Commission is being sued by the chemical giants who claim the decision to ban Glyphosphates is ‘unfair’.

Unfair to them, they think, as they will lose huge profits because of this weedkiller being banned.  Doesn’t it remind you of the claims made by cigarette companies of yesteryear, that ‘there is no evidence to support the notion that cigarette smoking harms your health’?

Or about that other famous lie, where even New Zealand doctors told us here that ‘there was no evidence to prove that 2,4,5T was harmful to humans’, after it had been banned elsewhere, and while our fields and dairy lands continued to be poisoned with the stuff.   2,4,5T was used in VietNam war-time of the late 1960’2 and early 70’s with devastating effects – known to soldiers as ‘Agent Orange’.

The only reason 2.4.5.T was left available in NZ for so long was because Dow Chemicals were making the stuff right here in NZ,in New Plymouth.  And therein lies another tale of disastrous consequences.

Extremely selfishly greedy for profit, irresponsible, and downright corrupt, to want to keep marketing poisons such as RoundUp and other harmful agrichemicals, when all evidence proves them to be bad for plants, animals and nature generally.

Support the action against Monsanto and other agressive agriculture chemical giants by joining the march if you can.

Organic USA Farmers Sue Monsanto For Contamination Of Crops

Monsanto Against Sustainable Agriculture.

Monsanto is the biggest corporation of all those corrupt organizations who are attempting to gain control of our food supply for their own profit.

The latest court case is happening right now, with USA farmers sueing Monsanto for contamination of their wheat crops.

A March against Monsanto is planned by NYC Free Schools and Food Justice in USA for the 23rd May, 2015.  The headline reads:

‘They have poisoned the food supply through negligence, and undermined the farming system through monopolization.’  See the links below for details.

http://www.march-against-monsanto.com/

https://www.facebook.com/events/379571882141135/permalink/688183531279967/

Monsanto is well-known for its litigious actions: Since 1997, Monsanto have taken 145 people to court over patent infringement, and it has not lost a case yet.

DuPont, the next biggest GM seed producing company after Monsanto, is also on the war-path.  It is been reported that DuPont plans to employ ex-policemen to check on farmers to investigate whether there is any of their GM seed on their properties.

In 2011, a group of around 50 American organic farmers got together to preemptively sue Monsanto before Monsanto could sue them for rogue Monsanto seed found in their fields.

If Monsanto were being reasonable and fair, they would understand that the last thing an organic farmer would want in his paddock is one of Monsanto’s genetically-modified plants, and so they would not ever sue an organic farmer.

Basically, anyone who is not buying these big companies’ genetically modified seed is at risk of attack by the seed giants.

There is money to be made for Monsanto in sueing people, and every time they squash a small farmer, they gain ascendancy in the battle to own and control the world’s food supply.

The organic farmers lost their case against Monsanto in 2011, and again in 2013.  But now, in 2015, a burgeoning group of almost 300,000 organic farmers are once more taking Monsanto to court for contamination of their crops.

Organic famers are not just worried that they might be sued by Monsanto if a trace of GM seed shows up in the farmer’s paddock:

Organic farmers are also concerned that heirloom seed is being genetically changed by Monsanto’s GMO seeds.  Heritage canola seed, which produces the world’s canola oil, has become near-extinct because of contamination by Monsanto’s ‘RoundUp Ready’ variety of canola seed.

All plant varieties are at risk from being genetically changed by Monsanto’s GMO seeds, if Monsanto seed of the same plant type is growing in the area.

Monsanto’s genetically modified seed is becoming dominant, as it invades crops of traditional seeds, changing  seeds forever, and this is putting our food chain at risk.

It was hoped that this lawsuit might take a spoke out of the predatorial giant Monsanto wheel.  Disappointing that  just this week, on Monday 26th January, 2015, the Supreme Court has ruled in favour of Monsanto in yet another case against Monsanto.

But this is not the end of the battle by organic farmers against the threat of Biotech giant Monsanto’s right to sue if they find any of their genetically modified and patented seeds in an organic farmer’s field.

Monsanto currently have the law on their side, which means they have the right to sue for patent infingement against any farmer if their seed is found without the farmer having paid for the patented seed.  This law applies even when the seed has arrived in a field quite naturally, via wind or cross-pollination by insects.

How unjust is that? The law supports this Mafia of agriculture, no matter what.  ‘Pay your dues, or look out. We will kick your arse.’  This is the underlying message given by Monsanto and the other seed giants such as DuPont.

To date, Monsanto have successfully sued to the tune of 23 million dollars against farmers who, they say, have used their patented seed without paying for it.

In March, 2011, a group of 50 farmers sought a legal decision to support them in prohibiting Monsanto from sueing them if Monsanto seeds showed up in their farms.  They lost.  The court decided that the assurance from Monsanto held good – that they would not sue if only small amounts of their product was found on any farm.  This assurance is on their website.  The judge ruled this Monday the 26th January, 2015, that the former ruling was still good enough – that the assurance on the Monsanto website was legally binding.

Andrew Kimball, the lawyer working on behalf of the American ‘Center For Food Safety’ in 2013, said about the decision by the judge, that Monsanto’s website pledge not to sue farmers was sufficient:

Quote from Reuter’s article, address below:  “It is a very bizarre ruling that relies on a paragraph on a website,” he said. “It is a very real threat to American farmers. This is definitely appealable.”

Apart from the worry of being sued by Monsanto if a trace of their seed shows up in your paddock, there is also the worry that Monsanto’s genetically modified seed is becoming dominant, as it invades crops of traditional seeds.

Ethically, it would seem that Monsanto is also at fault because of its genetically-modified corn, cotton and soybean seeds which they have developed to be resistant to the glyphosphate-containing weedkiller, ‘RoundUp’.  These seeds are called ‘RoundUp Ready’.

The bad side effects of using RoundUp is well documented, and for Monsanto to continue its marketing ploys on this harmful glyphosphate, by creating seeds that will withstand the poison, is criminal in itself.

Glyphosphates are very bad for bees and other pollinating insects, and they are a bad thing to get into the food chain because they harm the health of people and animals alike. Some countries have banned the use of Glyphosphate-containing weedkillers such as ‘RoundUp’.  Mexico has already banned it, and Holland has just this year ruled it out at the beginning of 2015.
