‘The Cure For All Cancers’:

This is the title of the book which Dr Hulda Regehr Clark, Ph.D., N.D.  wrote.  In this book she gives the details of her tried alternative cancer cure, which uses just three herbs for treating cancer.  She has successfully used this herbal treatment over a period of many years.

Her recipe of wormwood or artemisia, cloves, and tincture made from black walnut hulls, is a traditional herbal mixture which Percy Weston mentions in his book.

Of course, Dr Clark recommends certain dietary changes, as well as lifestyle changes, and gives a list of numerous cancer-inducing chemicals which must also be avoided to combat cancer.

DSCO 1667

Dr Clark has observed parasites of many varieties in the livers and intestines of all her cancer patients. She has also found isopropanol present in the livers of all the people she has treated for cancer.  This chemical, which is found in cleaning fluids, cooling agents and some cosmetics, has an affinity for a common parasite which favours cancerous conditions, the Fasciolopsis buskii.  This is a leaf-shaped intestinal worm, or fluke.  This parasite can cause such conditions as Crohn’s Disease, irritable bowel syndrome,  colitis, and cancer, according to Dr Clark.  She maintains that if you get rid of this parasite, then you will get rid of cancer.

Walter Last had a similar belief: that it was an organism thriving in the intestines which was causing many health problems, including cancer.

The herbs which Dr Clark uses can cure cancer parasites within five or six days.  Continued treatment reduces cancer tumours, and also kills off  other unwanted organisms which can take hold in the human body.  ‘Cancer can now be cured, not just treated’, she claims.

She feels so confident of her method in curing cancer, that she warns against surgery to have organs removed, ‘because you just might need them when you recover’, she says.

Dr Gerson had the same approach in keeping the vital organs.  He refused to treat people who had undergone chemotherapy or radiation, as this damaged the organs and reduced the likelihood of recovery. Surgery, radiation, and chemotherapy are all best avoided if you opt for a recovery using natural methods.

There are several well-tried and proven alternative therapies for treating cancer.  Dr Hulga’s is just one of them.  I am well-acquainted with Dr Gerson’s castor oil-enema-diet method for curing cancer, as well as those variations used by Walter Last, Dr Ann Wigmore, and New Zealand’s own natural-cure doctor,  Dr Eva Hill.  Then there are all those practitioners of the Vitamin C Megadose and Laetrile treatments who have had amazing successes:  Read the later chapter on Vitamin C and Cancer.

Dr Hulga’s cancer treatment is not one I have personally tried, but there is no doubt as to the efficacy of her method, since she has used it successfully over many years in her clinic.

I give it to you because of its simplicity.  The method is straight-forward and easy to understand, and it does not require that you purchase any strange or relatively unknown expensive herbs, or attempt any difficult procedures which some other treatments demand.  It might be just the thing for people who are not familiar with alternative therapies for cancer and other diseases.

So – if you are contemplating surgery for cancer, then I would urge you to postpone the surgery, talk to your health professional about trying  her method for a month, and then go back for a check-up to see if your cancer has reduced in size.  Then you might have a better idea about whether you should take that surgery or not.  Once your organs have gone, they have gone for good – or for bad, really. If there IS a way you can keep them, why not put in the time and effort to give it a go?

Quite recently, my sister’s friend was diagnosed with optic nerve cancer. She was told by a specialist at the Auckland Hospital that she would need to have her eye removed within a month.  She hated this idea, and went on her own programme of herbal treatment, with dietary changes and meditation, and now, only 2 months after beginning her own health regime, the eye cancer has reduced from 5.2mm to 3.6mm – all in the space of two months.

Dr Hulga Regehr Clark, Ph.D., N.D., includes 100 case histories in her book which illustrate its effectiveness. She includes a list of carcinogenic chemicals which you need to avoid in order to recover and stay well, and foods to avoid as well.

Dr Hulga waited until she had one hundred successful cancer case histories to report before publishing this book in 1993.  She has since written another book entitled “The Cure For HIV and AIDS”.

The Three Herb Treatment For Cancer Is As Follows:

The treatment is comprised of Black Walnut tincture, Wormwood combination capsules, and Cloves.

All of these herbs are used every day for around three months.  But each herb has a different dose, and is introduced in graduated doses, so read this carefully, and be sure to follow the instructions correctly.

1) How To Use The Black Walnut Tincture:

On the first day of treatment, take just one drop of black walnut tincture. Repeat the dose of one drop four times during the day, just for the first day. It can be taken at anytime, morning or afternoon.  Just divide the doses up so that they are spaced at least an hour apart. Dr Hulga Clark advises to take the tincture half an hour before meals. It can be added to any healthful drink.  Over the next three months, while doing this herbal treatment for cancer, avoid the use of coffee, tea or alcohol.

On the second day of treatment, the dose is increased to two drops of black walnut tincture, which is taken four times during the day as before.

On the third day of treatment, the dose is increased to three drops of black walnut tincture.  As before, the same dose is repeated four times during the day.

Keep on increasing the dose by one drop per day. Whatever you have increased the dose to, it is repeated four times daily as above, until you have reached 20 drops of black walnut being taken four times during the day.

It is very important to increase the dosage gradually, increasing by one drop per day as per instruction above.  Do not be tempted to take a shortcut by skipping the graduations and using a large dose of black walnut to start with. This would shock your liver  and your heart, and undoubtedly have an adverse effect.

When you have gradually increased the dose up to 20 drops per day, the dose is immediately reduced the following day.  You keep taking 20 drops in one go, one dose of 20 drops, but you use it only once a day.

From now on, only one dose is taken daily, using 20 drops of black walnut tincture to be taken in the one dose. This one dose is repeated daily for a period of three months.

2) Whilst using the Black Walnut tincture, as described above, you also take Wormwood in the form of capsules. The procedure for using the Wormwood combination capsules is as follows:

On the first day of treatment, as well as the specific dosage for black walnut as outlined above:   Take just one capsule of wormwood with a glass of water before the evening meal.

On the second day of treatment, double the dose of wormwood to just two capsules before the evening meal.  Keep taking the black walnut tincture as described above.

On the third day of treatment, increase the wormwood capsules to one dose of three capsules, taken all in one dose, just before the evening meal.

The dose of wormwood is gradually increased by one capsule per day until you are up to 14 capsules per day, which are still taken altogether just before teatime.  By this time, concurrent with the wormwood  treatment, you will also be taking just the one dose of the black walnut tincture each day.

When you have reached 14 capsules of wormwood, continue with 14 capsules for just two more days, one dose of 14 capsules each day before tea.

At this point, the dose is suddenly dropped to a twice-weekly dose: 14 capsules, which are still taken altogether in the one dose,  are taken only twice a week.  Leave a space of three or four days before taking the second dose of 14 capsules.

From now on, you take keep taking the Wormwood twice a week indefinitely, using the same dose of 14 capsules which are taken altogether .

Continuing this dose permanently prohibits parasites from re-entering your digestive system and vital organs.

3) The Third Herb is Cloves.

On the first day of treatment, just one capsule of cloves is taken three times a day before meals.

Double the dose of cloves on the second day to two capsules.  You will take two capsules on the second day of cloves three times a day, one dose before each meal.

On the third day, increase the dose to three capsules, which will be taken before each meal:  THREE capsules taken three times a day. You will continue to take the specified doses of black walnut and wormwood as well, as described earlier.

For the next week, up until the tenth day, take the three capsules of clove powder three times a day, that is, three capsules before each meal, every day until day you reach day ten.

On day ten, the dose is REDUCED dramatically:   You will take only ONE DOSE of clove powder capsules, using THREE capsules per day.

No more change to the clove routine for another three months: keep taking just three capsules per day, in the one dose before tea, for THREE months.

After three months have passed, reduce the dose of clove capsules to 3 capsules taken just twice a week.  Select two days of the week for the taking of your clove capsules, for example, three capsules taken every Monday, and again three capsules taken every  Friday.

Dr Hulga Clark recommends that you continue taking 3 capsules of cloves twice a week ‘forever’, as well as the wormwood.  This ongoing treatment kills off shigella and all other pathogenic organisms, and will prevent cancer-causing parasites from re-infesting your body ever again.

Intravenous Vitamin C For Cancer Offered At Auckland Clinic

Natural Remedies For Treating Cancer

Intravenous Ascorbic Acid in the Treatment of Influenza: Lack of Evidence or Incontrovertible Ignorance? ‘Unfortunately, as long as IV/C has the potential to bankrupt hospitals, it doesn’t matter how well it works.’  (Professor Ian Brighthope, quote from http://www.vitamincfoundation.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=9950)

Vitamin C is antiviral, antifungal, antibacterial, and acts as an antihistamine.  It helps the body detoxify, which is why it is such a valuable remedy to use in alternative cancer treatments.

Important note for New Zealand readers: an email from the Auckland clinic today, 12 October, 2016, informs me that their website address has changed.  Here is the message:

Thank you Merrilyn. The clinic’s website has moved recently:

http://www.integratedhealthoptions.co.nz

Merrilyn’s new book is available on Amazon:

Remember that, as with orthodox therapies, there is no guarantee that you will recover with Vitamin C and complementary therapies.  However, megadoses of Vitamin C, when continued over a period of time, have  the ability to cure many cancers, or at least halt their development.  Vitamin C has been recognized as a cancer inhibitor for a long time now.

Taking Vitamin C intravenously means that megadoses of the Vitamin can be given without the digestive system being affected.  Up to 70,000 milligrams of Vitamin C can be safely administered in this way.  The amount depends on the body weight of the person, and other factors. These large doses are often extremely effective, shocking cancer into remission.

Taken on a regular basis in megadoses, and combined with raw juices and detoxification measures such as castor oil and enemas, Vitamin C can gradually reduce cancer masses by killing off the cancer cells.

I have had experience with a clinic in Auckland, New Zealand, who give intravenous Vitamin C. Their address is directly below.  If you live in America, or elsewhere, then try contacting: www.vitamincfoundation.org They have a lot of information on their website, and should be able to direct you to your closest Vitamin C clinic.

The address of the Auckland clinic is 110 Remuera Road.

Phone 09 5247743  Their website for info is

Two friends of mine have recently had successes with natural therapies for cancer – after reading my posts on the subject and listening to my raves, they decided to give the detoxification techniques a really good try.

One friend decided to have her ovaries removed for a start, the place where the cancer had begun.  It was thought there were secondaries in other parts of her body also.

After the operation, she went weekly to the Remuera clinic for intravenous shots of Vitamin C.  She also began a juice diet with plenty of fresh organic salads. About 6-9 months later there is no sign of any cancer, according to her hospital specialists.  Now that she is cured, they say she may not have had cancer anyway.  Such is the reluctance by many medical professionals in accepting that some natural therapies, such as Vitamin C, do actually work.

The other friend, a male, had cancer of the pancreas.  He lives in the country and does not have access to intravenous Vitamin C treatment.  So he used plenty of non-acidic Vitamin C instead –  calcium ascorbate, which has had the acid neutralized.  I advised him to take up to 10,000 mg per day, in doses of 1000 mg at a time.

As well, his partner encouraged him to detox on raw juices and lots of salads.  He was fortunate to have her help in preparing a nourishing raw food and juice diet.

He also took castor oil every second day for a few months.  I had impressed the necessity for castor oil and enemas, as well as the Vitamin C, as he had looked so terrible:  They had expected he would die before long, as the hospital could do no more good for him.  I suspect that he also did the enema-cleansing of the bowel as well, as his demeanour was so dramatically improved, but I thought it imprudent to ask.

It was great to see him smiling and looking so radiantly healthy when I met them again about 2 weeks ago. It had been 5 months since I had last seen them, when they had both looked extremely ill and depressed. Now, they were both so very happy with the result of their efforts.  They delighted in telling me the story of their victory over the illness which had nearly put him into his grave.

Comfrey Herbal Ointment Recipes For Burns Bites Bones And Skin

Natural Herbal Remedies

Comfrey is a powerful healer. It contains compounds and minerals, such as silica and allantoin, which greatly accelerate the healing process. It is one of the few herbs which is thought to contain Vitamin B12. (see Heinerman ‘Miracle Healing Herbs’)

The silica in Comfrey can promote hair growth,  and aid bone and teeth development.  Mineral-rich Comfrey has also been used in some natural treatments for cancer and other diseases.

Using Comfrey in salves can aid the healing of many skin troubles, such as cuts, scrapes, and bruises.  It may even be just the thing for uncomplicated cases of eczema due to allergic reaction to household cleaners and detergents.

Comfrey is not only good for the skin:  It can help to heal bone fractures as well, hence its well-known names, Knitbone, or Stitchwort. Comfrey has been used to help knit bones together since ancient times.

Comfrey salves or compounds might also be found useful in cases of arthritis, when the joints have become inflamed and sore.

This first home made remedy uses Comfrey, Plantain, Calendula, Rosemary and Lavender as its base herbs.  If you can find some Yarrow flowers to dry, then you could use those as well.

All these herbs have antiseptic qualities, and when they are used together, they become very effective indeed.

The second recipe uses just three herbs and no beeswax.

You need to find some of the old traditional type of Comfrey if you want your ointment to have the maximum healing benefits.  Traditional Comfrey, Symphytum officinale, contains allantoin, which is a cell-proliferant.  Modern types of Comfrey have been bred to eliminate  allantoin, and some are  self-sterile.  These hybridized plants do not have such good healing effects as the old-fashioned Symphytum officinale, with its allantoin and high potassium phosphorous content.

Recipe Number One

Comfrey Salve Or Ointment

Make sure all your herbs are dried before using.  If they are used fresh, your resulting ointment will not keep so well.

You will need:

Two and a half cups of olive oil

1 tablespoonful of dried lavender flowers

1 tablespoonful of dried yarrow flowers

1 tablespoonful of dried calendula or marigold flowers.

1 tablespoonful of dried self-heal flowers and leaf.  This is optional, but worth putting in if you have it.  Leave out if you cannot find any to use. This is a wee purple flower which grows in lawns and around the garden. Self-heal is also known as prunella vulgaris.

2 tablespoonfuls of dried plaintain leaf.  Use the smaller leafed variety of plaintain which grows in lawns, known as ribbed plaintain.

2 tablespoonsful of dried comfrey leaf

2 tablespoonsful of dried rosemary leaf

3/4 cup of beeswax, to add at the very end of the process, after the herbs have been infused in the oil.

Method: Put all your herbs into a screwtop jar, big enough to hold the oil.  Use a little more oil if necessary, enough to cover the herbs completely.

Infuse in a warm sunny spot for 21 days, shaking a little every day.

After 21 days is up, drain off the oil. Put your infused oil into the top of a double boiler.  Alternatively, you could use a bowl sitting over a slightly smaller size saucepan, with boiling water in the lower saucepan.

Heat up the oil in the double boiler for 10 minutes.

Now add the beeswax to the hot oil.  Stir until the beeswax has thoroughly dissolved.  Take off the bowl which now has the melted beeswax in it.   Whip all together thoroughly, stirring as the mixture cools. Pour into sterile jars.  Wait until the salve mixture has cooled down completely, then screw on the lids.

Store in a cool place.

Recipe Number Two

Comfrey And Honey Compound

Mix 1/2  a cup of olive oil with an equal amount of raw honey.

Into this mix three tablespoons of powdered comfrey herb,  two tablespoons of powdered calendula flowers and one tablespoonful of either dried self-heal or plaintain leaf.  You could use both these if you have them.

Put into an airtight jar and use as needed for sore joints, and skin abrasions.

Store in a cool place.

Weight Loss Research Shows Thunder God Vine Slows Appetite

Natural Remedies

Harvard Medical School has just published a paper in the science journal ‘Cell’ on 20th May, 2015 which indicates the Chinese herb ‘Thunder God Vine’ could be very promising for curing obesity.

Radio New Zealand gave us a report on the new findings today, Saturday 23 May, 2015, just before 1PM.

With the numbers of obesity growing throughout the world now – over a third of the population is supposed to come under the obese category – the need to find a non-toxic and effective remedy for weight loss is becoming urgent.

A selection of herbal remedies, known to be helpful in weight loss, were used in the recent Harvard studies:  The one which came top of the list for its effectiveness was the Thunder God Vine.  It has the remarkable capacity to slow down the appetite because of a compound called Leptin.

Leptin warns the brain that you have had enough to eat. People who are deficient in Leptin eat too much because they still feel hungry, even after eating a full meal.

This ancient herb, which is native to China, Korea and Japan, has been used in Chinese medicine for centuries.

Research on mice at Harvard has proved that Leptin in the Thunder God Vine reduced appetite, causing weight loss.  A reduced food intake resulted in a 45% weight loss over several weeks of taking the herb each day.

And there have been no toxic effects observed in the use of the herb.

The Leptin within the Thunder God Vine looks to be very promising for curing obesity:  It has the capacity to awaken the appetite centre in the brain, so that instead of ignoring those signals to stop eating, when you already have a full tummy, the brain will have the right response.  With the help of Leptin from the Thunder God, you should feel full after a meal, and not want to overeat.

Of course, the herb will not be enough on its own in maintaining a healthy body.  Adequate exercise must be taken.

Food choices should still be sensible ones, with sugary foods, wheat flour breads and cakes all omitted from the diet Yeast products should be avoided too.

It is really best to avoid dairy foods as well, and use soya milk instead of dairy milk. Remember that the pastures where dairy cows graze have been sprayed with many chemicals, and these chemicals get absorbed in concentration in the cow’s milk.  Some of these chemicals can cause cancer and other health problems, such as obesity and depression. See the paragraph on herbicides and pesticides below.

Another negative aspect of dairy milk is that it is spoilt for human consumption by pasteurization. Pasteurized milk is difficult to digest properly, and many people  have a problem with it.  Dairy milk, and especially pasteurized dairy milk, causes mucous to form in the intestines, and this milk makes a home for intestinal parasites, or worms.

If the milk is not digested properly, then it causes bloating in the bowel, which causes the stomach to swell.  Wheat products can do the same thing.  Wheat bread is especially bad when it is made with yeast, as the yeast tends to continue fermenting in the intestines.

Food additives in the way of colourings, preservatives and flavourings, are a must to avoid.  Many of these chemicals have very damaging effects on the health, as well as the appetite.

Another thing to be careful to avoid is herbicides and pesticides, as these can interfere with the body and brain functions in many ways which are damaging to health.  The glyphosphate weedkiller such as RoundUp is very bad, and I believe that the world-wide use of this is one major cause of obesity.  It damages the natural intestinal flora, killing off the beneficial bacteria and increasing others, such as candida albicans, which causes yeast infections.

Basically, RoundUp and many other agricultural chemicals alter the balance of organisms in the bowel.  When candida gets out of control, it means you do not digest your food properly, your immune system is weakened, and you are likely to fall sick.  Deficiencies in nutrients can arise, which can lead you to be continually hungry.

When these chemicals are sprayed continually around your environment, then you really are in trouble.

The other thing that some of these herbicides and pesticides do is alter the hormonal secretions:  The pineal and pituitary glands, I find, are noticeably affected.  These centres seem to become inflamed and disconnected from the brain after exposure to weed-killer such as glyphosphate-containing RoundUp.  These important energy centres can get out of control, doing their own thing regardless of what the body needs. The disturbances in their normal functioning can cause a feeling of alienation from the world, as well as depression and appetite disturbances.

Last, but not least, meditation and yoga can help enormously to de-stress the body and brain.  Yoga Nidra, an ancient practice of relaxation, is a wonderful technique which can relax the brain,  allowing you to reprogramme yourself, devoid of the emotional clutter which prevents you from really enjoying your life.

Natural Remedies

Culpeper says of Sage that it ’causes the hair to become black’.

Garden sage has many therapeutic uses.

In the garden, its flowers provide medicine and nectar for the bees, as well as a herbal tonic to the neighbouring plants.

It is well-known as an aid to oral hygiene.  It has strong antiseptic qualities and is supposed to whiten tooth enamel.

Sage is still used today in some tooth-pastes.  It is reputedly one effective remedy for bleeding gums,  and improving gum health:  The crushed fresh leaves are massaged several times a day onto the gums and teeth.

The tea is gargled to relieve sore throats, colds and flu,  and ulcers in the mouth.

It can be effective to reduce fevers, and has been used in the past for thyphoid fever. (see ‘Herbal Remedies  and Homeopathy’ published by Geddes and Grosset.)

It is a valuable nerve medicine, and is a useful stomach remedy for improving a weak appetite.

Natural Herbal Hair Dye and Tonic:  Sage can help restore healthy hair and improve the colour.

Strong sage tea encourages hair growth and darkens the hair, if it is used on a regular basis. Many herbalists describe it in their writings:  see John Heinerman’s ‘Encyclopedia of Fruits Vegetables and Herbs’.

Rosemary is another wonderful herb which can help hair growth, but it does not have such a darkening effect on the hair, as sage does.

Recipe For Sage Hair Dye:  Here is a simple, natural hair dye and tonic which you can try.  It is perfectly safe to use, as it does not contain any harmful additives such as you might find in commercial dyes for darkening the hair.

Take two cups of fresh sage leaves and put into a stainless steel saucepan.

Add one cup of dry black tea leaves

Add half a cup of cider vinegar and eight cups of water.

Simmer very gently, with no lid, for one hour on a very low heat.  You should have around half the original quantity of liquid left at the end of an hour.  If you need to add a little more water, make sure you do so well before you finish simmering the brew.  If you add more water at the end of the simmering, then your mixture will not keep so well.

Take off the heat after an hour of simmering.  Set aside to cool.

Once your sage mixture has cooled properly, strain it off.

To the liquid remaining add the same amount of vodka.

Put into a bottle with a screw-top lid and store in a cool place.

Massage around a tablespoonful of the sage infusion into the hair each day.  Use more or less, depending on how much hair you need to cover.

Massage the sage tonic well into the roots of the hair as well, so that it feeds the scalp and hair follicles.  Massaging the scalp with the sage tonic will help the hair to grow again.

The oils in the sage leaves will put a natural shine to the hair.

Once the hair is sufficiently darkened, which may take several weeks, you can reduce the amount of applications each week.  Once or twice a week may be enough to maintain the darker colour.

Sage is really very good for the hair in so many ways.

Alternative Sage Tonic Without Alcohol:  You could make up your sage tea without the alcohol if you wish.  Only, remember that your mixture will not keep for longer than a week, and it must be kept in the fridge.  You could make up a lesser amount, enough to last a week, and then make up a fresh brew of tea for the following week.

Home Made Eucalyptus Oil For Chest Troubles, Colds Or Sore Joints

Natural Remedies

Eucalyptus Oil, which is a wonderful herbal remedy for colds and flu, coughs, sore chests and sore joints, used to be a stand-by in the medicine chests of yesteryear.

Eucalyptus oil, which is made from the Australian Gum tree, is beneficial to the lungs and the circulation of the blood when it is massaged into the affected areas. Rheumatism and arthritic joints, as well as varicose veins, can benefit greatly from a gentle massage of warmed Eucalyptus and Olive Oil.

But now the herbal eucalyptus oil has been sadly removed from the pharmacy shelves, along with many other very useful and comparatively harmless remedies we used for a myriad of afflictions.

The reason for the removal of Eucalyptus from the shop shelves is, I am sure, because home remedies are being discouraged by the pharmaceutical companies.  Every time we use a home remedy instead of going to the doctor to get a prescription for some drug or another, both the doctor, and the pharmaceutical company whose drug he/she  would have chosen, lose out on a sum of money.

So – now we have been denied access to eucalyptus oil from the health or chemist shops, we must make our own.

Here is a very simple procedure for the making of a home-made eucalyptus oil.  It is not anywhere near as strong as the beautiful tincture of Australian eucalyptus oil  which many of us  used to use for colds and flu, pleurisy of the lungs, or for rubbing on arthritic joints.  But you will find the effect of this home-made oil almost as good.

Here is how you make it, in only 10 minutes.

I keep a young gum tree in a pot for the purpose of using it medicinally.  Pick about four or five nice young leaves off your gum or eucalyptus tree.

Cut up the leaves with scissors, using the stalky bits of the leaves as well.

Put the cut leaves into a small iron saucepan and cover them with olive oil.  About half a cup of olive oil should suffice.

Put the pot onto the stove and heat up the oil and eucalyptus leaves.  Use a moderately hot plate for this, and take care not to burn your olive oil.

When the oil is almost simmering, turn the stove off, but leave the saucepan on the hot plate so that the leaves can marinate in the hot oil for a while.

After around ten minutes, the oil will be cooled enough, and ready to use.  Spoon off a tablespoonful or as much as is needed for immediate use.

This eucalyptus oil is very soothing for a sore, congested chest.  Rub it into the ribs at the side and cover the chest area in the front. Massage the oil into the collar bone area as well. Then do the back of the chest.

I find that I need to wash off most of the oil after twenty minutes or so. After that time, the eucalyptus oil seems too intense for comfort. But twenty minutes is enough time for the active ingredients in the combination of olive oil and eucalyptus to have a favourable effect on the lungs, as well as a tonic effect on the circulation.
