Prayer For Sobriety:  This prayer is the prayer which is pivotal to the story, “And the Prayer Must Be Published” which follows after this prayer is given.  This is the prayer which began my own recovery from alcoholism.  After saying this prayer for three consecutive days, following the advice given in the local newspaper in the ‘personal’ column, I was given the courage and the strength to go to Alcoholics Anonymous  in Paeroa, where I began the journey back to a life of sobriety.

Novena to the Blessed Virgin Mary (Never Known to Fail)

O most beautiful flower of Mt Carmel, fruit of the vine, splendorous of Heaven, Blessed Mother of the Son of God, Immaculate Virgin, assist me in this my necessity.

O Star of the Sea, help me and show herein you are my Mother.

O Holy Mary, Mother of God, Queen of Heaven and Earth, I humbly beseech you from the bottom of my heart to succour me in this my necessity.

There are non that can withstand your power.

O show me here you are my Mother.

O Mary, conceived without sin, pray for us who have recourse to Thee. (Three times)

Holy Mary, I place this cause in your hands. (Three times)

Thankyou for your mercy towards me and mine. Amen.

This prayer must be said three days, and after that the request will be granted and the prayer must be published.

The Rosary:  Hail Mary, Full Of Grace. The Lord is with Thee.  Blessed art thou among women and Blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.  Holy Mary,Mother Of God, Pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death.  Amen.
